Actually, these spots where there after the carpets were cleaned by someone else, before they were cleaned by them and after I cleaned them three times.  When I went back this last time VLM did more than make them disappear, unlike the other times where they returned after 2 weeks, they are simply gone.

Sorry gentlemen, but try as you may you cannot argue away success.  I am a convert who once believed as you HWE guys go.  For general carpet cleaning, my belief is VLM outperforms HWE.

I will always keep my HWE equipment around for times when I may need to shampoo and rinse - also for large spills and treatment of urine using the waterclaw.  I am convinced that the right tool for the right job should be the rule.  Why use an axe where a scalpel is needed?

doug, what is YOUR point????????
Are you saying because of your tunnel vision approach to the industry that you view alternative methods as a threat to your existence?  It seems you feel your professionalism has been called into question.  hwe as its place as does VLM.  I don't do Damage and Restoration work so I really can see very little use for an hwe in my business anymore.

I would much prefer a master of method than a Method man, too many have several methods and have mastered NONE of them.

Done the portable and the truckkmount thing in the past, learned how to get better results with OP. Mastering one, got rid of the need for BOTH.

It is almost impossible to master TWO methods, mainly because you will let your bias decide how to clean a carpet instead of learning by sticking to one or the other in all situations.

try HWE then OP (if they're willing to pay of course!!)

the results will stagger you- OP on it's own is too slow and too many pads like you say (have done OP only jobs like that so I reckon I am qualified to comment), HWE can only extract so much before over-wetting/heat setting can become an issue, but combine the disciplines...
Ahhhh!!
you won't believe your eyes!

The combinatin is indeed amazing, and no I no longer mess with chinese restaraunts. However, I have ALWAYS looked for the nastiest carpets I could find simply because cleaning them give ME pleasure and satisfaction. I made a point of learning how to speed up OP. That is one reason I invented the highspeed orbital machines and the Glad pads, that combination sped cleaning up to the point OP was FAST. Now with the aid of good encap products, especially PadCapPro, it is amiainb how quickly carpet can be cleaned.

I take it padman you don't do urine contaminated carpets out of choice then, not that there is anything wrong with that?
