I worked for a company that used a truck mount and when it broke down we had to use a Mytee 200 or 250 PSI non heated portable that cleaned absolutely terrible compared to what I was used to. Needless to say I'm starting my own business and only have about $2000-$3000 to spend on a portable. I'm looking for the best unit I can get and what your suggestion is for PSI and water suction. Any help is appreciated.

When I called the sales rep from the company he told me these machines need at least 18amp outlets to run on and a lot of the condos I will be cleaning are old and will keep tripping up the breakers! That's the only problem with that machine.

Electric stoves and driers use 220 - plan on a mytee converter as well then. Or go OP. If you want to tell me an old condo doesn't support an electric dryer, I have to ask what third world country you are in that calls an apartment a condo. |

Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?

You must have a real problem with those particular condos. I have been in this Industry since 1977 and, yes, I have come across a "particular" situation; however, I never made my final decision on selecting a Fantastic system based on just that particular acct. Your machine that you did not care for is only a basic machine. If it has 2-2 stage vacs, and a 250 psi pump, you are at 20 amps, period. Or, if it has 1-3 stage and 250 psi pump, you are probably at 16 amps. You will never find "the best" portable that will not draw amps. Gman was referring to our JAGUAR Series of equipment. We have either the 5.7, or the 6.6. The 5.7 would draw fewer amps: 1-cord: approx 13.5 amps 2nd cord: approx 18 amps max--if psi is turned up to 500 psi. Anyways, never forget that there are 99% more job locations out there than just that "particular" condo account. Hope this helps; Ed Valentine Cross-American Corp

Thanks for the replies. Ed..I was wondering what the difference is in the 5.7 and the 6.6 Are either of these machines heated? Also what would it cost to ship one of these things to Hawaii. These are all factors I have to figure in with my budget. Thanks for all your help.

Howzit? Aloha from Kauai. I'm thinking about going with the Jaguar depending on how much shipping is to Kauai. I'm on a budget to start because I still need to find a van or truck to carry my equipment around. Any tips on business in the islands that would help would be great. Aloha.

Kauai;
I know that many of the people who live on Paradise Island (Hawaii) will have things shipped to a location in Cal. Then they arrange their own shipping over from there. many times, that will save freight costs. Does that possibly make sense? Thanks; Ed Valentine |

Yes it makes sense but I'm wondering how much it would cost if you guys sent it straight to Kauai. Also, does this unit come with a wand and hose or do I have to purchase that separate as well? I need to order in the next couple weeks so I can start making $ as soon as possible. Bless you.

Lets do this: I suggest that we cross that bridge when we get to it. In other words, when you are ready to go because there are several variables in terms of quoting prices way before actual purchase/shipment. I think that makes more sense at this point. Many thanks for your consideration. Ed Valentine

Ed V. I am interested in the new Jaguar 6.6 but I would like to see a pic of the internals and can you let me know if the vacs have an exhaust connector on the body panel? Also, I would like to know if the Jaguar could handle the extra lift of two vacs in series added to the back of the machine. Do you have any pics of the new handle?
Thanks in advance for your reply. |

Ed...I need to know how long it will take to ship this here. Let me know the options because I'm going to order one. Which would you suggest? What are the advantages/disadvantages of the two machines? How long will it take to get one here to the island of Kauai? I need to get started ASAP. Thank you for your time and help. I really appreciate it.

Buy the 6.6 or you might regret not having the extra power.
