Lets get to reality.  No customer base will be built with portables.  Your customers are not stupid.  They want an upscale cleaning.  Lets all hit reality now. I have run portables and tm, and you will get NO respect or repeat business on portables.  Truck mounts I am banging down a whore business worthy of a gamer.  Its fun.

So to any dumb ass who thinks they will succeed with a portable, I say nothing.  Go for it. I wish you the best.  FOOL!

ChemicallyFried;

You certainly stated a less than truthful remark when you said:

"Lets get to reality. No customer base will be built with portables."

No offense, please, however, I built a very nice business servicing many fantastic customers and being recommended by the finest carpet & Furniture Stores in the business. Ofcourse, I didn't use the "Generic" Portables perhaps that you are referring to because if I were, you would be right.

However, our particular systems (High-Performance "Portable"/ TM's) were mostly run from the trucks without a hitch or a problem, and with little downtime either. Ran 100-150 feet every run.

Had 11 trucks; 11 machines. And that is proven history. And to this day,(30 years later) I haven't seen any of the competition with their big banging Petro TM's beat it or as successful in terms of volume and our particular success.

I'm not knocking ANY TM or Portable. However, just pointing out how we must be a little more responsible in the truthfulness of our statements when KNOCKING a certain type of machine(s).

I have been running my business for 8 months now using a portable and not one unstatisfied customer yet, most customers usually tell me that the carpet hadn't looked like that since they first moved in....Its unfortunate how bias some carpet cleaners are...I mean I do want to upgrade to a truckmount eventually because of the amount of time it takes me to do a superior job on the carpets but never the less I am WOWING each and every customer with a non-heated portable....its all in the operators hands what that carpet ends up looking like after the job is done... there are excellent carpet cleaners that use portables all day and there are terrible carpet cleaners that use TM's all day and vice versa.  it's all in the operators hands.  So when people use bias towards portables, I just laugh LOL.  Cause I know it's either one of two things. They've either never owned a portable or they are ust bad at what they do for a living.  Either way that does not affect the service I provide for my customers. - With all due respect-

Lets get to the core. AND I HAVE PORTABLES STILL AT MY HOME! Once you run a truckmount you will shortly realize portables are for dumb asses.  Until you experience the difference you are an idiot to the rest of us.  So get out of your limited world and allow your weak mind to absorb an old concept which is quite new to a moron like you.
Truckmounts suck and spray way more than a portable.  BOOM

GET IT NOW!!!!!!REALIZE IT.

Reality check.  You put your portable hose on my balls and at the same time Ill put my truckmount hose on your balls.  You will scream before me for sure. And give me a break on the sex jokes OK...all of you.....

What you will never figure out is that your customers will thank you like you are their GOD and get a big relief when you leave.  They will mislead you into thinking you are good to not hurt your sorry ass feelings.   Customers laugh at portables.  Mind you I ran portables in the past.  When I went to truckmount the respect level went off the scale.  Business tripled almost right away.  NOONE WANTS A PORTABLE.  They want alot of bang for their buck.  NOT CHEESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It has not much to do with how hard you work.  Its the customers perception of whats happening that is the real game.  The portable guy killing himself has no chance against a truckmount guy fiddling along.  REALITY TO US AND THE CUSTOMER! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE DAISIES!

Chemically Fried in reality
