Oh Boy, Nu-B here, just bought a porty

Folks, I'm gonna need some help. I just picked up a US Products HHP-310 machine used. Works like a dream as far as vac, pump and heat go, so that's a good start!! It came with a Drimaster upholstery wand, which I'm sure will come in handy (somewhere!).

Now, what the heck do I look for in a carpet wand for this type of machine? 300/75psi, 3stage vac (whatever that means) 140" lift, 212*.

I bought this because I have turned away so many small room carpet jobs in my cleaning business, that when this deal came along, it seemed stupid to pass it up. I'm not out to start a CC business, just want to be able to do a bedroom here and there when I'm asked.

I take care of a rental complex that would be a perfect test ground for me to learn with this machine, and I have a few carpets here at home that could stand a good cleaning. I have a 17" 2spd rotary that I hear can be used for bonnet cleaning as well (?)

I'm going to see if I can find some classes or instruction around here, but we're pretty small and out of the way. Not much without a 2-5hr drive.

So questions:
1. What type of wand?
2. what type chemicals to start with. (have a decent jan supply house here)
3.can the hoses be extended?
4. is there an online source that goes over basic HWE usage?
5. what the heck does 3 stage vacuum mean?

Geez, I hope these don't sound stupid, and forgive me for being so ignorant in this field, but I am brand new at this starting today and could use some guidance along the way.

Also check the machine for water and air leaks so that you're getting the maximum performance. You're also going to need a sprayer of some sort to apply certain chemicals.

I've read thru the 5 pages on this porty board on the ones that seemed pertinent to my situation, and I'll spend the rest of my spare time this week going over all the boards here to glean what I can.

Sprayers huh? See, I thought the chem went in the tank! I've got several 2 gallon spray tanks setting around that I've used for tile & grout work.

Boy, do I have a lot to learn here!

You can get wands from your local distributors. Don't use a Rug Wrecker just because you want to save a few bucks.

Do you have equipment rental companies around your area? All the ones in my area have wands.

Excellent idea. I was thinking about that yesterday. However, he'll need to make sure his couplers are compatable, or order some.
