Sodium Carbonate is not the only food grade chemical in it.

My personal feeling is that DFC is not your old toxic formula. Yes it is a food grade product and people who are around food know they must show professionalism and keep food from contaminating in severe heat or allowing other products to contact them.

Many carpet cleaning vans we work on at Kleen Kuip have a very distinct sour smell continuously being emitted from them. So, my advice is all products DFC or not should be handled in a safe, professional manner to eleviate any potential problems.

If I should hear or see a second sitting of this mysterious incident I will be the first to let you know.

The only food ingredient in Heavy Duty DFC is Sodium Carbonate and that is what Cow Brand tells you to put into your refridgerator to stop sour smelling odours.

I'm confused. [IMG]height=17 alt=Confused src="http://www.kleenkuip.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif" width=17 align=absMiddle>

P.S. for future reference...

You would be suprised at how many employees mix incompatible products together. I know they don't tell you that but they brag to me about it.

actually ted your wrong there are three listed ingredients that are on the bottle, which are all used in food...

the sodium citrate is salt of citric acid...it's used as a perservitive...

the sodium carbonate is cow brand or basic laundry washing soda...

the sodium choride is just salt...??? for flavor maybe LOL

it's not the things on the label that I'm worried about it's the thing that are not on the label.

that chemical had a distinct smell...sour smell.. it must come from something...one was in a spray bottle and the rest was in the jug.

I have had no other chemical react this way

Tastes good to me! actually what probably really happened is that Steamer probably mixed one of his other drinks in with the DFC and forgot which bottle was which? Of course then that would turn bad. I am on my 96th bottle of that DFC and never a problem. It tastes great.

If you want the real facts on DFC products call Mike Rochan at Cogent Environmental  705 434 4489 he is the person to contact, it is his formulation.
We have been using these products long before they where introduced to the market place with no problems.

Ketchup??? no
relish..NO
Mustard...NO
you have to refrigerate after opening...or it will be filled with bateria.

I like to have fun...I going to call the FDA and tell them that chemspec has used their name in approval for cleaning chemical.

It's fun to see where this will go...LOL

I bet that you won't see that FDA approval on the front of the bottle for long..LOL

I think all we need is for Steamer to label his bottles before he drinks from them is all.
