For the rest of us who mastered English, whip as he uses it is not found in the authoritative resource, the Websters Dictionary. However, it is referenced as an obscure use in Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia anyone can edit (making it a dictionary of slangs) as:
"In urban culture, particularly hip-hop communities, the term "whip" is used to denote a car. Usually faster cars, most likely due to the possibility of sustaning whiplash when accelerating too quickly. also see sports car" Note the spelling of sustaining which indicates something about the contributor of this definition. So I have come to the conclusion that he (Precision) either was or currently is a child of the inner cities. This explains how the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND started in the U.S. We should not treat him as repulsive but we should encourage him by using the grammar of our customers who did not fall asleep in class because they were up all night hitting it with their homeys. Imagine the frustration of looking up automotive dealerships in the Yellow Pages and finding nothing under "Whips". Well, it might say "See Tackle" or "See Adult Shops". With such a fine vehicle for grocery shopping, I am sure we will be extremely impressed with the picture of his company van. Edited by duckcountry - 31/January/2008 at 4:22pm |

Really? Did you tap into the "up-sells" database in the Library of Congress?? You know, the huge master computer into which all carpet cleaners report their "up-sells" sales? I think that's the same computer that records how many times mice fart all over the country, and also contains the archive of all toenail clippings since Nixon. I sold more ice to eskimos for the Union Ice Company than anyone else. Nobody judged the integrity of my character, they were too busy counting the money to care.
My dad delivered ice with a horse drawn whip er ah wagon when he was younger. Guess that made me a natural born salesman. No, really, he did back in the late 20s. But that just made me a horses ass because of what he had to look at all day. Well, that is what HE said. Aren't we suppose to believe everything everyone tells us? Buyers aren't liars, just fabricators of the truth. So are some people in this business I guess. Edited by duckcountry - 31/January/2008 at 6:10pm |

Steam Ho is alright.... He's just having a pissing contest.
Nice ride!
He will eventually learn that big sales will run dry....it's the relationships you build with your customers that will count in the long run.
SteamHo sounds like he won't be doing this for long....he'll be onto bigger and better things soon.
I've been SteamHO... selling is fun.... you get a high from large upsales...I know I do.
I give alot of things out for free too... at the end of the day it's how you treat the customer over charged or not..LOL
The bottom line is what counts!

For me, the money is in repeat business and referrals. He trying to survive, we are building and sustaining our crop of customers. He is planting seeds, we are harvesting a bounty.
I knew a man years ago who was an insurance agent for one of the big firms. Had his own office. Worked 14 hour days for like 8 years straight. Then he just collected the residual (repeats and referrals) and enjoyed having the money and time to spend it. Precision is in the high effort stage. If he makes it by realizing why he is doing it (which he can) and applies himself toward the honorable goal of building an independent business with staying power, then I think he can realize the full potential of what the real meaning of life thing is all about. Or, he will go through the motions with the wrong intentions and burnout, believing the grass is greener on the other hill without knowing its all the B.S. you don't see that makes it seem greener. Hope he understands the people here are a support group for him and not a lower life form. He might be asking the wrong questions, but at least he is asking. |

Where do you work man? I like your slick style. Can you be my Mr. Miyagi? You know, teach me your skills?
I would love to do 1 job a day then hit the gym then the beach.
I'm your typical lazy Canadian so 1 job a day @ 600-800 would suit me just fine.

less than the welfare roles, but if you want a number for your book just choose one. I am sure it will make for good fiction reading.
