given by Carey Mitchell and Cindy Sayre of Shaw Industries and CRI. Both of the following are going to be available in the next 60-90 days.
1)The long awaited test to determine how clean a carpet gets by a given cleaning method. Its called x-ray floressence (sp) and it is used to determine the presence of soils left in the carpet. 2)The CRI Green Label program is being extended to carpet cleaning chemistry. The criteria for a good cleaner will be based on how well it cleans and how little it allows resoiling. (Perhaps future warranty issues will be dependent on proper cleaners being used?) Also touched on the subject on encapsulation. They are testing the encapsulating chemistry and they did confirm one thing, it seems not to resoil. Where the soil goes, nobody knows. LOL |

Lee: I enjoyed being at the seminar but I feel there is some questions I would like answered. Please keep in mind that I am not putting down the integrity of Carey Michell. Why did Carey feel it was important to spend so much time on the subject that suing a company in the United States is alive and doing well. There must be an issue in the States regarding instillation of carpet in the school board for students health and injury, but by his presentation I felt like he was addressing a room full of custodians. Was there many people there that work for the school board. Re soiling was interesting given the fact that Shaw has there own chemical line that they use and other than soap and water with lots of rinsing their results seem to blame the other chemical companies for the fast resoling on their carpets as being there problem and not the carpet industries manufacturing. These are just a few of the questions I have. Please forgive the simplicity of my questions however I would just like to clarify in my mind on what I was hearing. Lee I do not expect that you have the answers I would just like your opinion or of others that were at the seminar. Thanks Adwa |

If you inquire Carey Mitchell will tell you who's cleaner is superior. I will not devulge that info it is not in my place. Becaue I also don't feel like having a confrontation with everyone. But I am sure if you contact him he will inform you. Just my opinion.

Its no secret that Carey Mitchell believes in Ultrapac and the Stemin' Demon. As a matter of fact when they left us in Toronto they were going to Detroit for a Steamin Demon demonstration/seminar. And as for the first question, I think the long drawn out point was that the media took a dumb published report and tried to make it the dagger that would kill the carpet industry. Well it hasn't happened and it seems like they have (at least for now) quit trying. |

Lee: There are many people who do not realize what the orignal experiment was and how it was done that caused all this in the first place. I am sure most don't remember the day when they we going to put Carpet May be hazardous to Your Health stickers on carpet as a result of that experiment. Just my opinion.

Thanks guys that clarifies what I heard. You are right Doug I felt like I was out of my element at that lecture, there was so many different saying like DDT, BBS, OTC. I'm just guessing because I had no idea what he was talking about. Poor Lee the whole afternoon I kept nudging him with questions. Appreciate your response. |

Hey Stanley, on another board Don Eldred commented that this was a seminar that even a old guy like him learned a lot from. Don't knock education when you don't try it. Funny why you wonder why only a few people post here. I guess you will start to knock Don now too eh? |

Actually...I wasn't knocking...I was trying to figure out what the seminar was about......but I had to post something to get your attention.....see how the regular guy never hears about these seminars..... I'd love to sit in on the last one...but I never even knew about it...these things should be posted here to get everyone involved.... I looked at all the posts in this section it was like a bloody secret society...it hard to post to every topic if you have no idea whats going on... more details from you would have been nice.... and we all know the customers don't care....you don't have to get defensive...and you can put away that knife now Edited by MR. Mr. Steamer: I think I read about this seminar on this board. I don't think people who attend seminars are of a secret society. They are a society of inquiring minds. You do know a mind is a terrible thing to waste. Just my opinion
