the $5.95 per room bottom feeders will get their share of the jobs, and they can have that end of the market...most of their "customers" will not use them again...if they don't mail out a massave amount of flyers every month, then they won't get any work at all...I quit worring about them and the people that they appeal to a long time ago...one time about 10-15 yrs ago, I had a woman call me and book her for the following week...she was trying to squeeze every penny out of me...she then called me back about 15 minutes later and said she call another carpet cleaner and got a lower price than mine...she then asked if I would give her an even lower price than him...I was already annoyed at her nerve and I lost it...I asked her if I did give her an even lower price, would she call the other guy back and see if he was going even lower...she said yes that she was going to keep calling until she got the lowest price she could...right then I told her to go with the other guy that I wasn't going to clean for her at any price and to never call me again...well, as fate would have it, the other guy stood her up the following week and she accually had the nerve to call me and ask if I could "come on over right now" because she had already move some furniture out and needed to have the cleaning done right then...by now, I was really feeling smug, so I had to ask her if she expected me to clean for his price...and believe it or not she said yes...she expected me to "honor" his price...I know that I should have just said no and hung up the phone, but she had gotten under my skin so bad that I just couldn't let it rest.this was a time in my life when I let things like this get to me...I told her that I would be right over...and I hung up and went on and did something else...I had no work booked for that afternoon...I was eagerly awaiting her to call to ask where I was so I could tell her off, but she never called back...it took me about a week to get over it

set your price and stick to it. don't try to out bid anyone of these low ballers. it's not worth it. if a new customer calls and tell me she can get it done cheaper from another company, i say great give them a call.
nothing is impossable. it just hasn't been done yet.

they have to change their name every year or so because they run out of people who will try them and their reputation catches up with them...
