Adwa: Generally when you step into the lunney bin, you must be prepared to blend in with the rest of the inmates there so as to not stand out from the group too much. Every once in a while, I actually forget where I am and give an answer that I would on the outside.

Steamin... you don't have a helper or back up guy????  You got to get someone and go with them... even if your just going to sit in the van...

The customers will appreciate your commitment....

I know how you feel...I work in pain a lot of times, because my brother is the only one I trust.  If he's too busy or not available  I take two advil and head out

When I die, My wish is to have a trail of TM 's on the way out to the
cemetery. ( Hopefully most will not be there just to witness the event and
make sure I am out of the picture. lol) What better tribute than to have
the respect of your peers and competitors.

It's a part of my goal. At least it works for me.

I once cleaned 105 chairs on cruches. I worked for a couple of weeks with cruches and a cane. It was quite a few years ago and I had no one to who could do the cleaning, so I got a helper.  It certainly couldn't happen today.Guitar

I agree more toward Mr.Steamer about the comp.

I had a referral from a good rest.custy but it was too far for me to drive for the money (round trip 150mi)  so i called 10 ccer's in that area, Each one said they didn't want it. It was only $60 for 300sft. Less than 1hr work. Couldn't get anyone to do this for me. So i ended up losing the other rest acct. (they were family). Hungarians.

Whatsmore, my area is loaded with bulletin boards, everytime i drive by one i put up my pulltab flyer and sometimes the whole flyer is gone the next day. The COMP is taking them down.

I have 14 companies here in Kentucky that use our method, we ALL work together and share work. Best of all worlds when you have peers you can trust.

Padman must live in "a little patch of heaven"... that happens no where...unless it's a franchise situation....

I throw a few companies some work ...if it's something I don't do...

but most times I don't like to recommend...actually I DONT RECOMMEND  it caused me a lot of heart ache in the past...

I've also helped a few friends get into the business.... one of them is also sending out flyers with the same company I use and under cutting my cheap price.......with the truck I sold him... with the methods I taught him

to me that is WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are so WRONG Steamer, I know personally hundreds of cleaners, and most places I go a GROUP of cleaner freinds from the same town meet me.

Maybe it is where you live, or maybe it is just YOU.

I left on good terms with the last CC co. I worked for

I help him out and he helps me out

His brother in law also runs a CC co. in town and we get along very well....he's been trying to get out of the cleaning end and focusing on water damage so he actually sends alot of cleaning my way

so I send the two of them all of my WD,,,they're both mentors really

I also try to stay friends with most of the other cleaners but there is only 1 other co. I truly trust to cover for me.

the one o/o tries to send me all of his crapola work but his customers usually think my prices are too high..............even though he tried telling me that I don't charge enough

turns out I need a day surgery and can go back to work the following day......I'm gonna try to tough out a couple jobs tomorrow
