Steamer  I think it is I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed man!

Yes I know what is in the chemicals I use. I did work in that field for a bit.  I said go ahead and use what ever you want to clean with, I just said I don't want to "period."

ooh good then you know what I say is true...

The regular grandulated powder of chemspec or prochem or most carpet cleaning cleaners is not much different from your everyday laundry detergent...FACT

do you need to use the laundry detergent NO! if your trying to save a few bucks there are a lot of chemical companies that make carpet cleaning solutions very cheap..

here in the GTA you have the guy that sells the cimex, which sells his stuff..7-15 bucks a bottle ...or you can go to cr**t labs...cheap cheap cheap

no real need to use laundry detergent...but it can be used...that is my point

Steamer---Your point is made.  I have said all along use what ever you want as long as you are happy and your customers are happy that is all that matters.

Maybe this is where some of the bailout money went.. Confused

For this year’s flu season, five biopharmaceutical companies have been awarded massive contracts by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for development and production of more than 195 million doses of swine flu vaccine, in addition to the seasonal flu vaccine.

The companies -- Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline, MedImmune, Australian drug maker CSL, and Sanofi-Pasteur -- will likely make a great deal of money. Shocked

CSL has contracts to supply $180 million worth of bulk antigen to the U.S.  MedImmune will supply 40 million doses of its live attenuated nasal spray swine flu vaccine for more than $450 million. And Sanofi-Pasteur is providing more than 100 million doses of monovalent swine flu vaccine, a $690 million order.

Over the years we have spoken of the detrimental effect that residue left behind on carpet is causing. But things have changed and the polymers that are added to the new detergent chemistry we have available today do work very well and their positive side-effects are much greater than Tide's.

I no longer clean carpet to know but I do a lot of business with very small mom & pop type cleaners who are thrifty or downright cheap and always reach for the absolute least expensive product on the shelf.

When I get the opportunity to introduce a better more premium product to them and they sample it I notice the same thrifty, cheap guy now passing up the $10 per gallon and reaching for the $35 per gallon product. This is not the guy who would every buy a $35 gallon of anything but he does and the proof is in the pudding. Something different is taking place with him and his customers.

Does it clean faster? Yes
Does it brighten the carpet? Yes
Does it leave a fresh smell? Yes
Is it a more concentrated product and not watered down? Yes
Does it offer encapsulation and keep the carpet cleaner longer? Yes
Is it making him more money? Yes

Conclusion:
If you must leave a residue behind make sure it is one that helps and not hinders. It's called EnCap or use a DFC product (Detergent Free Chemical) it works well and leaves a pleasant residue behind that is vacuumed dry by your customer at a later date.

You see Ted, this is what it is.....if you go to a hand car wash and one guy on the east side of the street is charging 10.00/wash with cheap soap and the guy on the west side is charging 35.00/wash with a better soap and says your car will be cleaner for a longer period...............I GUARANTEE you will be in the 10.00 line

To a customer clean is clean, if the carpet comes out cleaner than what it is, they're happy..........they don't give a rats ass for the bull of staying cleaner longer, YES you will catch the odd fish , but what good is having one fish in your frying pan when there is an ocean of cheap fish waiting to be hooked

DFC goes bad.... they use food preservatives, but it's not hot filled. I hate to say it, but use DFC pump bacteria into the carpet..... DFC goes bad after opening filling with bacteria .

Steamer and whoever is listening...

Many of our higher-end cleaners use these products with excellent results at a fair price and have happy customers who in many cases demand Green Products with NO RESIDUE.

I find it hard to swallow that a company like Chemspec who is owned by R.P.M. yes a multi billion dollar company who for instance owns Tremco Paints. They must have a bank of lawyers on their staff who's job it is to protect the company against lawsuits. And how could they ever get all those seals of approval with an inferior product.

The same way G.M gets away with making and using inferior parts to put on inferior cars leaving the public at risk in case of malfonctions. Ford & Chysler get away with the same inferior product hidden behind a shinny coat of laquered paint. Try suing any of those multi-billion companies.

How about the multi-Billion Pharmaceutical industry..........they get away with loads of crap, they must have hundreds of lawyers on retainer.

On point Ted.....Layers jobs are not there to insure you are making a good product or not, when a new product is put onto the market it is not run by the layers for approval .Lawyers are on retainer in case of a lawsuit.....THATS IT . They may help with a discloser issue.

no one questions their seals...

trust me when I say that DFC is loaded with bacteria ...and them saying that it's a product made with approved FDA ingredients is just BULL...

the food and drug association does not approve individual food chemicals for use...

all a marketing ploy...

I had posted about a bottle of DFC going bad a few years ago...I sent a sample to the lab that my father uses...this thing has a high bacteria culture count...

I call it liquid bateria

but it's chemspec....a well trusted company...LOL

don't worry the hot water  kills most of it...but it's there
