You're right. Never noticed that. But you asked about reliability: http://cp-products.com/library/rx20_cmx20_wdr_4-6-00.pdf Edited by FriendlyHammer - 27/November/2007 at 4:10am |

The RX20 and the CMX20 are the same unit built by Hydramaster. THe CMX20 is sold through a company Hydramaster owns called Cleanmaster. Both these units are recommended to work off truckmounts and not portables. But if you must work it off a portable you block off two vacuum slots.

I've never done that with my RX/Porty combo, and I don't have a problem. If you want to increase your dry times, maybe get some glides. I believe the five-jet head on the CMX20 is the old style head that takes the old style glides. I wish I had that one instead the three-jet I have right now. |

The CMX20 and RX20 have five water spray jets and five vacuum ports on the spinning star. When using them on a portable that has less than 200 inches of vacuum lift it is best to have three suction vacuum ports than five suction ports producing a weaker degree of suction. You still leave the other ports intact to spin and create mechanical action but you plug the suction portion of them.
Better still, if using a portable go to a Rotovac 360 as the RX is best suited for larger open areas. |

Talk to me about the wand in another 10 years. By then it will be too late. Back problems, tennis elbow, wrist and shoulder therapy will be needed. If you were going to dig up your garden would you use a Roto Tiller or a hoe? ![]() HO, HO, HO...Merry Christmas Mr. Steamer P.S. I have been in the carpet cleaning business for far too many years and have cleaned with just about everything. If I was ever to go back to cleaning carpet for a living I would not entertain using anything but Truckmount with Rotary Extraction.I had Steamers "Stinkin' Thinkin'" for years. Why would I want to invest into a Rotary unit when I have this big powerful Truckmount? Until I realized the combination of both was Utopia and at night I still had energy for sex. If you are going to invest $50,000.00 in a Truckmount do it properly and invest $50,500.00 and save your bones while getting better consistent cleaning. Or maybe your employees would stay longer if they did not have to be the producer of all the tiring mechanical action on the manual wand. Food for Thought. I forgot to mention how much better is is in traffic areas and how much more satisfaction you will see from your customers. Edited by Carpetologist - 29/November/2007 at 6:17pm |

Ted I have to agree with you...but I wouldn't get one if I had a porty....
Right now I do a pre-scrub with my cimex...but I charge for that... what can you charge for when it's not an extra step and it's already attached??? I've used a 360 and personally I was disappointed...the cimex wand combo does a much better job. yes I will have no bones...but I will be a hero in my customers eyes |

Mr. Steamer,
I now see you are working even harder than I first thought. Lifting and carrying a Cymex into a home must be a killer but you know KK always has the answer. ![]() A baby 15 inch Cimex in-stock and ready to save your muscles.
