It's a basement... it was hard to sell... plus it smelt like hell... so maybe I was blinded....

cleaning the carpet is way easier than ripping it out... I wouldn't want to touch it

I mean I didn't think of it that way. I thought if water is clear then there shouldn't be a problem.

Steamer if it was clear water why would you not just clean it up. Why would you have to rip it out?

Just curious, The customer said it was clear water, now just because it came out of the toilet Is it still a class 3 water damage?

I would guess it's not sewage unless there was sewage flooded.

Actually a waiver for that type of thing isn't worth the paper it's printed on. The judge would ask for written documentation on the proper procedure for CLASS 3 water damage and when he read this, the waiver would go out the window. This is a class three water damage regardless of the 48 hr. thing. The source is still sewer!

Just my opinion.

How much water damage? just in the bath area? I would have him sign waiver on the situation and the price. If the water went down the basement then i would pass, he could blame you for that. What padman said. But if it didn't then extract the heck out of it, a claw would be nice, and get air movers underneath. Make sure he pays ya good.

Good luck.
