finally got myself a Technician......started training him today he seems to be getting the hang of it quick I'm excited to know that my biz will soon be growing to a 2 truck operation yet I'm worried he's gonna leave or screw up once I set him loose on his own how long do you guys train an employee before setting him loose???
I've got a tonne of apartments to send him to once I feel comfortable with his work |

Congratulation Steaminpile....I am happy for you. Go by your instinct and leave him alone on a small job and see how he does. Then take it from there.

If you are doing empty apartments and going to be there with him then it is on the job training. I am very strange when it comes to sending someone by them selves. I take quite awhile. It is my name at their house and i want no problems. They have a cell to call me. But I guess I am probably the exception my last tech stayed for over 5 years and still helps out if I need him.

3 months is ridiculous
My first CC job I was trained for a day and a half
If he can't handle it on his own in a month...............he's history |

You asked, I told you what I would do. My techs have all worked with me for at least that long. My callbacks are less than .25%. |

Good luck Andy! let us know what you learn from this experience. We are seriously considering hiring someone to take over the truck for us, but I've NEVER not cleaned in my business...just don't know how my custy's would handle it. Take care, Lisa |

Plan on sending him to mostly apartments and commercial type stuff.
It'll be tough for me sending him to residential, especially the repeat customers
I put the Green RX skids on the machine today........I'll give em a whirl tomorrow...........they fit perfect
sorry Cmaster,it just seems to me that 3 months is a LONG time.
you sure you're not hiring them from the yellow bus??
j/k

It's the blue bus here, and no, I'm not. I want to feel comfortable with them being in any situation, including my repeat residential customers. |

repetition... mold him let him shadow your every move.... say it while you do it... explain why you do it that way.... it's very important to stress that it has to be done your way or he might screw things up.... I hate it when you show someone something and then they do it their way... |
