That's right.. The day after Valentines Day I went to my second job and she started but wouldn't stay running.. Went home and stripped it to the carb.. No biggie..

From this: Kohler 26hp..

To this:

See the yellow oil cap on the left? To the right is the fuel pump.. The hose coming out the left side of the pump goes into the carb.. Took it off at the carb and turned engine over and it shot fuel.. So carbs getting fuel..

Wastetank is empty.. Oil is good.. Nothing froze up.. Battery is fully charged..

Got it running but was wondering if Kenny or anyone else might know what was wrong and what would you have troubleshooted..Big%20smile

It could have been the fuel filter???

or a bent fuel line...

I see you have the HD airfilter but it still could be dirt.

it also could be an ignition wire..

etc.

If you have fuel, it has to be ignition. Get a well insulated screwdriver and attach ignition wire to it. Put screwdriver within 1/4" of a ground location and have someone turn on the ignition. If no spark, you have found your problem. Replace Magneto or whatever produces spark on your unit.

I hate to say it but ken has a good Idea...  maybe you are loosing spark.  it's possible that magneto thingy is loose...you can't see it because it's under the front cover.

I was also thinking...do you have a boat tank or a straw into the main tank....check to see if the straw is picking up dirt or maybe it's loose and moved to the top of the tank.

Man I have had a kohler for years and years it's always something stupid and simple

Good thinking guys.. Ken.I replaced spark plugs and had plenty of spark.. Even double checked it and stuck my baby finger in the plug wire...Electrify Also got a new fuel filter..

Mr.Steamer.. Never did check the gas line going into the Van tank because it was getting fuel and the carb bowl on the bottom was very clean..

OK.. Here's what it was...

On the front of the Carb is a solenoid.. See that shinny square on the right side of the carb..? to the left of the fan shroud.. Just above the cable..

The solenoid wasn't getting voltage to activate the fuel intake.. When you turn the ignition key you should here a pin drop like click and that is every time you turn the key on.. Sometimes it would click but most times it didn't..

Got voltage to the carb solenoid and Yesterday i caught up on the jobs i missed..
I didn't figure all this out by myself now.. You guys have more TM experience in this area than me.. A guy at the Manufacturing Plant helped me out..

And Thank you guys for your Troubleshooting knowledge..Big%20smile

I hate to admit it, since I've never been a fan of your one-liners (no offense), but this is a gem. I just might have to sig that.

I'am hurt?  The problem is anything over one line to answer most questions on this board would confuse the person asking it? I believe in the KISS method of answering questions?
