I am just getting started in a couple of weeks. I have a friend who is a manager for a large apartment complex. Is there a contract that is used when working with apartment complexes or commercial accounts?

head to Grand n toy... maybe they have something there, or just get your lawyer to draw something up for you

That's all he needs is a contract written by a lawyer, than nobody will have a clue what is to be done.

Keep it simple, find out what you need to get paid, a signature or a purchase order number is usually required to expedite payments.

Spell out your terms up front with the proper people, usually the project manager is not the person that writes the cheques so find out up front before you start working for them, other than that put your prices in a written form so everyone knows what you will be billing for different size units etc.

I think it should be a legal document... worded properly... you just need to tell your lawyer what it must include and leave it to him...

I have a good one so no problem for me...

lots of these self written contracts are as weak as water...

but a P.O. isn't a bad idea either... but there will never be enough detail on it to cover your butt
