how many of you run an emulsifier through your machine??

I used to always use an acid rinse through the machine until recently

I'm thinking if I'm using a close to neutral prespray.....why do I need an acid rinse??

On nasty carpets I've been using Prochem Ulrapac as a prespray and Dry Slurry as a rinse and I must say the results (appearance) has been great, even the next day when it's dry.

just wondering if maybe there might be any problems with it??

(resoiling,residue)

or am I being paranoid,I mean that is what they're made for isn't it

Andy: There are a couple of reasons to run an acid rinse thru your machine, but the most important one IMHO would be pH balancing. If your prespray has a 12 number attached to it, it helps to use a rinse with a pH of 2 or 3 to help the carpet get back to near 7. Remember attack prespray? That needed it.

I realize that

but Ultrapac and Slurry are both at a ph of 9

won't the water balance it out???

Ultrapac is. Slurry is at 10. Using both to gether WILL leave you higher than 7.

Unless the place is trashed, the best results are using Ultrapac and All Fiber rinse together. They were made to work with each other.
