My name is Jared Smith and I have my own commercial pressure washing business. In addition, I do light duty landscaping and fall leaf clean ups.

I'd like to add carpet cleaning to my portfolio of services, but don't want to go out and buy a TM unit.

I was wondering, that perhaps I could use my existing pressure washer for the supply, and the truck debris vac as an extractor.

My pressure washer is a skid mount 20 HP 3500 PSI 5.0 GPM hot water rig, and my vac is basically an 11 HP engine attached to a large blower.

I know the pressure washer unit could be adapted to supply by adding in a special unloader, its the vacuum that I am worried about.

Exactly how much vacuum is required for 100 feet of 2" hose?

I have no idea what your vac set up is but

300cfm is what I would consider a minimum (with no plumbing) .

you'll also need some kind of heater
