It was amusing but sad for our industry and cleaning consumers. In the midst of seventy or so professional carpet cleaners socializing and educating each other two small sized ethnic husband and wife walked throught the crowd and purchased a carpet cleaning machine. Remaining totally oblivious as to what was happening in our showroom. I said this could be a wonderfull opportunity for you to learn many aspects of your new career. Here was years of experience they could have tapped in on for free.

They said no time for education. They had a job booked in 20 minutes to do. Make money, make money...have to go now and they left.

Ted: I remember you mentioning that to me when they were paying with their multiple  methods of payment.  They probably still have the instructions from the last mchine they rented.What more is there to know.  I didn't see if they purchaced any buckets for water. Who need them anyway? Plug it in, add water, turn it on, squirt, suck and make out the bill.Guitar

It is a shame indeed to shun free education.

Well our psychic magician and mind reader predicted a good future for all who attended KK Day.

I dont' know where that leaves you Steamer. I guess we will have to get Vandene back to pray for you.

No time too busy...

Would you believe we had a new wall washing and restaurant hood enhancement cleaning tool, hardwood sanding and refinishing, stone and marble cleaning system along with our hard surface and grout tools that we never even had a chance to introduce.

Next year or come and see us for an individual showing.

Work smarter, not harder.

Ted;

That seems to be commonplace in this Industry.

Manytimes I remember (in the old days) traveling 8 hours (or more) to do demo's, etc...  Calling individuals who had previously inquired on our equipment. Some of these guys wouldn't even walk across the street, but a week later, would call our Plant and have the nerve to ask us to travel once again to see them!

There's an old saying:

"Opportunity doesn't just knock; it beeps as it goes by".

Good Fortune & I'm glad you had a successful presentation day;

It all comes down to affordability Ted... they might be servicing people in their own community... people of their own ethnic background, that can't afford to call a professional comapany...

The more complex things get the more money the people who service the machines get... the more you have to spend on specialty chemicals... the more that everyone gets ..

except the Cleaner who's just broken his back for the last hour or so...

I've seen to may guys go out of business... who tried to go all out with specialty machinery...specialty chemicals... special this special that...

If they just had listen to me...soap and water maybe they'd still be around today...

I think it cost at least 1000 bucks to get all the start-up chemicals you'll need

no wonder the ethnic people ran "ignorance is bliss" it's a term we through loosely around this forum
