Subject: What would you do????
Date Posted: 17/November/2004 at 4:32pm

Just Last week... pulled up to a big house in the GTA... I was there to clean 5 areas in the basement...ok np

from the truck to the end of the basment it was over 300 ft....

the basement had white carpet...with signs of browning

why was the carpet browning??  there was a swimming pool in the basement...

You could feel the humidity... I advised the customer that I couldn't clean the carpet...

the customer advised me that it had been done two times before...

what whould you do???

I didn't clean it.... I was just wondering if anyone would have...

Mr. Steamer:  There is never a shortage of armchair quarterbacks.  Regardless of how you clean it the clorene from the pool is going to create a chemical change in the carpet appearance mabye not right away, but it will happen. OP or not.  An acid rinse may have removed the browning  it but it will return.Guitar

Mr. Steamer:  We have companies that come here and clean and when someone tries to call the number on the invoice it is no longer in service.  Some companies can only contact the potential victum, The victum cannot contact them.Guitar

Doug you have seen a lot come and go. With companies like that how long do you think they would stay in business with no customers calling them back?

ADWA:  These companies operate by phone only and I mean callout only.  Maybe that is their way of ding business in small areas.  The terorist method. Get in make the kill and get out before you get caught.Guitar

Well then the blame would be on the customer for not looking into the company that she lets freely into there home. Doug that could be a dangerous situation.

Steamer I can believe that, but have you hear anybody doing something about it. Like calling the police. Maybe you should start a side business called Carpet Police Investigator

Doug I guess there is an unwritten law that it is ok to let any carpet cleaner in your home without checking them out. Sure wouldn't be me. I would call Steamer and I would make sure my dresser drawers were in order too.
