After a twelve hour flight from Honolulu to Cairns, I finally got home about 01:30 Friday morning.

Without a doubt, the most beneficial part of this trip for me, was the Leather Restoration course with Tony Wheelwright.

An excellent, value for money course that I would recommend for anyone serious about Leather RESTORATION.

Meeting Lisa & Greenie, along with Bernie Roybal and his son was an invaluable experience.

Had a terrific time at Connections and especially putting faces to names.

I would like to thank all you guys and gals, that took the time to introduce yourselves to me and talk for a while.

Especially Gary Hea*ock, Rick Gelinas, Jamie Nape, Jeff Cross, Lonnie McDonald, Larry Cobb, Bill Yeadon, Joey Pickett, Tim Baker, Jim Eckman, Paul from the U.K. and so many others.

Lisa Wagners rug class was superb, waiting for those cd’s to come out next week.

Lonnie McDonald’s leather cleaning also was not to be missed. Another under-utilised service for PROFESSIONAL cleaners.

Thanks also to the organisers of Connections04.

Because of Connections04 and Harry Hides, my business is now going to be re-structured to an even more life style friendly business.

On my Chrissy; shopping list is a Cimex, with a Power Clean on the wish list, maybe next year.

Thank you to all that attended for making it such a memorable event.

Cheers,

Shorty from Down Under.

I don't know about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a can of FOSTERS beer , good ole Aussie icon.

Took it up to my room and climbed in the cupboard.

(I'm a cupboard drinker, you know).

Poured it into a glass, and said to Delia,    'this don't look too good'.

Then I had a sip, aaaarghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Then I read the print on the can......................

Made in CANADA.........

It sure ain't nothing like Aussie FOSTER'S

How about a vanilla milkshake from Denny's ???

Cheers,

Shorty.

I hated missing you there Shorty, but things weren't going to good for dad health wise earlier this year, so I abstained from going.

We hope to go next year again, we were there last year.

Shorty,  I have a question maybe you could answer.  One of our members Allen (Surroundings) who is also from down under. Disappeared when you showed up here.

Do you know anything about that and if you do could you explain it to us. Thanks

We spoke at length.

I explained to him that all the girls, young & younger, that had a flower behind their right ear, were available and looking.

The ones with a flower behind their left ear were taken.

The ones with a flower in the middle, at the back, were also taken, but looking for an upgrade.

He looked me up and down, decided that discretion was the better part of valour,  and I never saw him again.

& that's nearly the honest truth your honour.

Cheers,

Shorty.

It was a real treat to meet Shorty and to get him "patched' at my class. Each student gets to create their own leather Eye patch, here's is Shorty's.

I did however, notice that at times he was somewhat distracted from the job at hand.....

ps, Lisa and Jeff (Greenie) shown here and actually paying attention, also make Teflon glides for most wand styles which you have by now heard about ad nauseum.

Doug that's what I am trying to find out, but Shorty is being tight lipped about it. Or maybe he knows nothing at all.

Doug Maybe he gets bored easily and jumps from board to board, something like Monopoly.

ADWA:  I guess the there are quite a few boards.  But usually you check in once and awhile.  He usually had something to contribute in his own way. Guitar

Hi Adwa, nice to hear from you!!

I see that you are keeping all these boys under control.

Yes, I have been busy, done a LOT of Leather jobs in my shop and taught a  few schools.

I've also added Padding and Glides to my box of tools.

ps, make sure you have plenty of terlot paper on hand for the 19th, it's krazy kenny's, preferred moisture test for dry carpet - he will tell you when it's dry.

Mr Steamer, the said "chic" is Lisa Smith as stated under the picture.

She also started a post about "Harris Research can kiss my ass" so if you're a Chem-Dry, guy you may be in luck.

Are you a slow reader ??

There is also a couple of pics on the Aussie forum of Lisa, one where she is demonstarting her & Greenies glide.

Also not to be missed on that forum is a photo of the new Chem Dry franchise machine.

Said machine may be non-rotorised, is extremely difficult to carry upstairs, but needs no extension lead.

You're right.......Allen who???????? I don't think I have met this person.

Cheers,

Shorty.
