Don't understand it to be honest Doug.  Hard to believe they paid some consultants to come up with such a name . All I can say is a new breed of power brokers are taking over and I guess they deemed it necessary to change the name.
I think it is time for the FIO to sell their shares back to IICRC and get out of it. Benefits of being a certified firm are small at the best of times. I am not saying education is not important, but that is readily available

Don I told you huge changes were coming about.
Everyone ignored me.
A certain person chose to keep all the issues you are peeved about to herself with no consultation to anyone.
It was incomprehensible.
I realize that a lot of this had a cloak of secrecy over it. I am as stunned as anyone with the name change.
But to say the FIO should sell its shares and take its ball and go home is a bad move in my opinion. This person at the FIO did nothing for the cleaners.
Hopefully the organization can move forward with a renewed sense of hope and purpose.
I have proposed a couple of classes to Norm. One would reduce the WSIB premiums by 5% upon completion including a 5% rebate for the previous year.
The other would open the door to a new world of cleaning upholstery.
Can you guys not move forward or are resentments the flavour of the month?

Lee that is a bunch of bull---- to blame RS for all this crap. No body before her ever--ever kept the FIO Board up to snuff on the goings on at the IICRC Board. And isn't great that our new Board member for the FIO misses his first meeting and his Proxi vote is given to TonyW, just confirms what I suspected all along that he was behind the whole thing to get Rosemary not only out of the IICRC but out of a job, just wait til it is time for membership renewals with the FIO and we will see where the power lies.

Doug  It is a bunch of crap to blame our rep on the IICRC Board for any of this. All major items from IICRC Board meetings are presented to the FIO Board who don't give a crap. They are retailors, wholesalers, manufactors could care less about the cleaning side. Lee  wanted a complete report on everything that happens at the IICRC Board meetings, and that is impossible as much of it is not for the public. It would far more important to me to have a report from all the committees, where the actual ground work takes place and I beleive Lee is on one or more of those committees.  By the way after getting the person they wanred on the FIO Board he missed the first and a very important meeting of the IICRC I mean The Clean Trust.

Well Don my time in the FIO was short I will explain that to you someday. I guess as long as you can point your finger at the rep and try and persuade everyone else to do the same it will certainly take the heat off Lee. As far as the person missing the first meeting as far as I'am concerned it would also be his last meeting as your rep.

All I am saying Don is that I was very clear to everyone at our townhall meeting that huge changes were going to occur at IICRC or whatever you want to call it.
I was fluffed off as usual by you know who and later on certain people found out that it was in fact true.
I refuse to slam RS as she was a very hard working person. I admit that.
HOWEVER she knew what was in the cards and refused to enlighten the BOD or the membership on these extremely important issues.
It was inappropriate do not bring this issue to the membership. I quit the organization over it and was still accused of having my own self interests being pushed. HOW INSULTING!
Like you Don I love this business. It has been the vehicle to my life's dreams and I respect the industry for that.
But there were important issues that were ignored by the FIO rep and downplayed to the hilt. She appears to have paid the price for it. It appears she was not the only one.
From what I understand the entire IICRC Executive Committee has been replaced except Darrell Paulson who is now Chairman.
Paul Pierce, Mike Reed and Ed Hobbs all gone. Mike and Ed were the epitomy of the word volunteer and they are gone. I understand tears were shed in the hall.
But the old school's time had come.
Hopefully the new regime will learn from the old school's mistakes.

Lee a lot of what you are talking about was confidential info and not for anyone to go about spreading rumours, how you got hold of the info that far ahead of time is a mystery to me. Did our FIO man remain on the Board?

Why does the new Spanish Navy have glass bottom boats?

Answer: So they can see the old Spanish Navy and learn.

I dropped out one year after getting in.  I happen to agree that the information is freely available from other places and I sure as hell didn't see any business as a result of joining.  Jon Don and CRS in Portland are familiar with the products they sell and the sales people actually learn about the products.  For all the once-in-a-lifetime-this-will-happen-to-you stuff, boards are great for that.

Hey Doug    Just hot of the press.  The CEO of Ford Motor came into the office to day and annouced it was time to rebrand the name, as of next Monday they will be called The Dorf Motor Car Company, plus all directors will need to have experience building cars.

Lee  Took time to go back in my minutes from when I was on FIO Board and Cary was our IICRC rep, could not find any reports from Cary that made it to any Board meetings, maybe the President at the time felt it was not important, or there where no reports.

Maybe someone can post and give us all the up-to-date scoop on IICRC as many have no idea of the changes. Or, maybe there is a website out there that has some explanations...let's hear the pros and cons.

She was there for eight years and was viewed as part of the old school and like the rest of the old school did not get the votes necessary from the shareholders of the IICRC.
It really is that simple.
The same happened to Mike Reed, Barry Costa, Paul Pearce and Ed Hobbs. I like all these people but they did not get the votes and they are gone.  I am really pissed about a couple of these people being gone. I won't quit over it though.
