In the GTA we usually have 4 distinct seasons. At what times of the year do you advise res customers to use heat, AC or windows open during the cleaning and Après-HWE?

Splash:  I don't live in the the GTA but.  If they have air why open the windows unless they just want an air change.  You had better start carring a hygrometer with to advise your clients.  When windows are open you can lose contol of a good situation if not monitored.  If they have baseboard heat I used to open the window a crack to attempt to get some air movement.  With all the air exchangers, forced air systems and air why bother with the out doors to dry?If the air is dryer outside than use it. if it is not than don't use it.  If it is cold and the people are uncomfortable than turn the heat on.  If they are hot turn the air on.  The air conditioner si just a big dehumidifier I would always reccommend you turn on if the people have one when you get there not as you are about to leave, to give the du time to warmup.  Lee is from the GTA or Mr. Steamer they will know more than little ol me.Guitar

The answer to your question totally depends upon the humidity. When the humidity is below 50 RH it could be advisable to open windows and doors regardless of season.

Although on a cold day make sure you do not freeze the carpet.

Open window is usually best, fresh air is best when drying flooded carpet, and usually the best way to prevent molds from growing.

Op'ers don't bother with any of the above, 1 hour is plenty fast!

Have a sense of humor doug, think of the incredible razzing over the years padders have endured, and then chuckle a little, trust me, it won't hurt you a bit.
