I have a couple trucks with hoses that are getting old. Apparently I have an employee that needs to learn how not to take care of a hose too!. I've never replaced the high pressure hoses before but I have a 200' hose on each. I'm finding widely varying prices for hose. Any suggestions?

Hoses are one of those particular items that should not necessarily be boughten on "Price".  No one wants their pressure hose to burst and become a liability. Always secure one that is over rated in WP.
I agree however, that most all pressure hoses are too darn expensive due to the manufacturer of it and their hold on within the market place. Therefore, the 2nd level Suppliers really do not have that much of a mark up as one might think.

I know that we offer 50' x 3,000 (as a min.) WP x 12,000 burst rated at $95.00 (US).

Good luck in your search;

Make sure you buy one that is made in the USA. The foreign ones are junk and prone to all sorts of problems. Be careful of the quick connects also that they are made in the USA. The asian knock-offs are horrible and don't even fit. You will get a hernia trying to put them together. Pure junk.
There is a place in Orlando called "Amazon Hose". Do a search. They sell only high grade USA hoses and quick connects and will build to suit your needs. The prices are normal but the quality is top notch.

Tim

Fort the extra cost it would be a wise move to support your local supplier.

Case In Point:

A guy shows up at his local supplier with a broken hose at 4:30pm just before closing time and needs it fixed for his Saturday morning job.  Depending on where he purchased it may depend on how & when it will get repaired.

Don’t get hosed by the Asian quality. Support your local supplier; all the ones I know are there to help you.

You should have re-usable ends on your truck...
A broken hose should be fixed in a few mins...  and then back to work....
getting your hose crimped is a waste of time where ever you go ..just but the hose and get re-usable ends

Male barb goes in the psi hose then hose clamp tight.
You should carry male/female connected to the barb ready to clamp on!

Compressed/crimped is safer but thats the emergency fix!

Scroll down you'll see them. That part goes inside the psi hose then
you screw on the male/female quick disconnect. Hose clamp it tight.

Don't forget to use plumbers tape.

no way you can't clamp high pressure hose.... LOL you can but I wouldn't....

you can't get re usable ends at most hose and fitting stores...  it's better than any crimp fix...  email me at Mr.Steamer@sympatico.ca and I'll email you a picture...

you can fix it on a Job with just a hacksaw and 2 adjustable wrenches and a brass coupling if it's a line break...

As long as you stay under 500psi.
I use a 4ft psi hose with hose clamps on each end with
my short hand wand to fill my 5gal pre-spray jug straight
out the TM @ 400-500psi and never had a problem.
Your right Mr.S I wouldn't if its going inside the custys house.Stern Smile

If your heath and safty regulations are as hot as the UKs
You should not be able to repaire a high pressure hose, as they need to have a burst test on them. and you would be back to where you are
