I like using an ultraviolet light to detect urine contamination in carpet but the problem is, it gives a bad impression to the customers when the glow remains after cleaning it. I did some searches on the internet and it seems that the glow always remains on carpet and cannot be removed. Any secrets?

Ignoring lala from lala land, I think the whole thing comes to chemistry.  Some solutions do a great job of changing the molecules to a structure the nose can no longer detect but will not pass the UV light test.  Hydrogen Peroxide bound with soda bicarbonate does a fair job of changing the salts but that takes several days for the chemistry to do its work if left alone for the alteration.

Are you testing the same day or after a pause to let things really dry (like maybe 3 days to be sure no moisture exists even in the subfloor?  Was the padding replaced, carpet cleaned on the backing as well and what damage was done to the sub floor?

I did clean with extractors for several years before switching over to bonnet.  I am not up on all the chems you guys use these days so I might be totally offbase with my ideas but it is the best I can for you under the circumstances.

didn't realise the glow would remain after being cleaned. if it can't be removed the best thing you can do is eplxian before cleaning that the mark and smell will be gone but some of the glow will still be there so at least they know you are being honest and know you stuff and not making excuses after it's been cleaned

Hello I got ir probelm i think you should try somthing else to remove the stain of urine from the capets. First of all you should take quick action to remove the stains. As if u get late it will be difficult to remove stain properly and yo knw the uric acid in urine will make carpet bad looking. May be that acid is the cause of your glow problem You should try anythng else like vinegar or baking soda..

This is an interesting topic about urine glow I think if the stains are too deep it will not be removed.

Urine is probably the most difficult of all odours to get rid of, because not only do you have to get rid of the established odor, but you also have to deal with spills and carpet stains.

To remove excess urine, lightly dab the stain with a microfiber towel. In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon dish washing liquid with 2 cups cold water. Gently whisk in 1 tablespoon vinegar (to sterilize the area and break down the acid) to the solution.
