I think it would be worth way more than 50k..........the good will alone is worth 15,000 to 20,000

Doug:

The guy has started another biz ,,he tried selling to his employee and kinda got stiffed by the employee ($$$ wise) now he just wants to sell and save the company name

I've known this guy since I've gotten into the biz around 10 years ago.....he's kinda been my mentor,,,I trust him and he has ALOT of knowledge about TM's and fixing them

the asking price is close to 40k

I look at it as his customers (whatever I can keep) plus my customers............is alot of customers

(whatever I can keep). So basically you want to give this buddy
40k for a air cooled TM and Van with a name on it?
cause ppl die, move, lose their job, change there mind,
might not like you etc. etc. so you could
end up with less than 100 loyal. They were loyal to him..Confused

schwack of commercial = how many?

You gota love nightrider and its probably true!! Approve

Just give him the 40k + 15-20k for good will.. Bouncing Smileys

AIR-COOLED GREAT FOR MOTORCYCLES.
where air can cool the engine. But Steaminpile
i know you love air coolded so go for it and
good luck. Big smile

schwack of commercial = the two largest flood companies in town (I've already set things up with them to take over),4 of the biggest property managers (he used to send me his overflow) and many other buildings.

owner has also agreed to send letters to all clients informing them of the new owner/operator

pretty darn sure I can keep more than 100 customers

BTW,,,I ran this company for the guy when he was on holidays last year so I know he was doing well even in the dead of winter..........he always did phone me when he was too busy etc. to do a job because he trusted me to do a quality job.

JohnL does have some good points.....I gave my opinion based on unfactual information and relied on the preponderance of Steaminpiles knowledge of the market in his area . If Steaminpile had the excitement of posting his venture , his mind is already made up and I wish him the best of success.....Better to try and fail than live with  " WHAT  IF  "
