What do you find the most equitable method to use

Each would have its merits and draw backs

I find room pricing simple and EZ and living in a rural area not driving forth and back to do in house quotes.

What say you?

I can do it cause I live in the oil capital of Canada and only go after the high end of the market by refferals. We have over 8000 millionares living in this city. Not hard to do under those circustances.  People living out in areas that do not have the demographics can not do this .

There are companies right here in the GTA doing the very same thing Ken does...

The higher the price the better customer you attract...

I find that quoting by the area involved works well for us.  I do most (over 90%) of the quotes 'in-home' as well.

Bjørn,

Simple equation:

The money saved on gas travelling to and from could be spent on a course to develop a telephone personality. Phone

If they like you, they will pay you.

Telephone is the best... but I can always get the job if I do the in-house quote...

sometimes its worth the drive to acton

we do it by the sq. if you talk the client through it, most times you can give  a pretty accurate price over the phone. we also will go in and do a in home qoute.

You must know the what a tipical room would involve and once you have some experiance, it will always work itself out in the wash.

I priced one on the phone the otherday and when I measured it up, I was short $4.

It usually washes out.

$.50 would be awsome!!!
