Greetings all!

Just need some quick advice on removing urine odor from a mattress. I've done it before with good results but I was kind of "winging it" haha. I booked the job for this afternoon.

I have a truck mount that is down (busted hose.. damn the cold!) so I'll be taking my ninja. I have Microban, Matrix Enzymes, UPT and Milgo (and various other things non-urine related).

It's not memory foam. I made sure to check on the phone. I'm thinking I'll go out there, saturate the area with UPT and extract. Repeat as needed and finally hit it will Milgo, extract repeat and mist it again with Milgo just for the scent.

Any better ideas?

I would try the enzyme before the Microban. Other than that, sounds good to meThumbs%20Up

thank you sir! Went out and did it. I was surprised the stain came out. I was sure to cover my ass during the walk through just to be safe. I specifically asked the guy on the phone "is it memory foam?" He said "NO!" I get there, sure enough, a memory foam freaking pillow top! UGH!

I went ahead and did it the best I can trying to keep the balance between not wet enough to clean and too wet to ruin the memory foam. I saturated it with acidic acid first (basically same pH as vinegar) to neutralize the fibers, extracted with a water claw then proceeded with the UPT, waited 10 minutes, came in and extracted. Did it again, 10 min later, extracted. Finally I hit it with Milgo, gave that 10 minutes and extracted. Did it again, this time without waiting and extracted and then the mist down to get that "ooh it smells so clean" comment and smile from the customer!

I don't know though, there is a high probability of the odor coming back. I made sure to note "no guarantee" on the invoice. It's OK. My invoices say "We cannot guarantee 100% restoration however we will guarantee the dilligence of our technicians". That's on the line they sign when I walk in the door along with "if you slip, it's your own damn fault" and "if we break anything it's not our fault" hahahahahhaha.

He paid cash! So that was a real relief. I don't mind going back out. Hell, I went out and redid a job where the customer's complaint was "a peice of string on the carpet" and "I just feel it could have been cleaned better". But I'm damn sure not about to give money back!

acidic acid is not the same ph as vinigar. You will be ok as long as nobody puts much weight on the foam as it breaths in and out.  If you dumpded enough chemical on it then that odour is all that should exhaust each time the foam exhales. If not then the urine smell will come back maybe not as strong as all you have done is dilute it. Using chems on mattress I don't think is a real sound idea?
