hello fellow carpet friends  my  question is besides owning my own business i'am a supervisor for a big FMS company that provides service to a building with close to a million sq feet of carpet. the carpet is all tile rubber back on concrete. now I took an iicrc course the guy who put it on said that was the best and very easy to maintain. what do you guy's think is the best way to clean this kind of carpet without a truck mount? we have box with wand extractors, extractors with a beeter brush. I get the best results with a bonnet and then go over with extractor the only down fall is very timely process. any suggestions?????

My best suggestion is to stick with the pad cleaning. I used to do a facility that had miles of the stuff and found that extraction was a dead horse. Padding ceaned it well, no browning and longer intervals between. Hope that helps.

Try encapsulation, you'll never look back

Thanks for the reply Lee. Can you please explain to me what encapsulation is?

Encapsulation cleaning is the modern version of using a dry foam shampoo.

The chemical is scrubbed into the carpet and breaks down the forces that binds the dirt. It encapsulates the dirt into a crystal and is then vaccuumed away 24 hours later.

The chemistry also leaves a polymer in the carpet that leaves the carpet resilient to soiling and therefore stays cleaner longer.

Encapsulation!!! this is new to me. If it crystalizes, does that mean there will be a white powder left behind to vacuum and is the chemicl called Encapsulation or do you look for a product with that ingrediant in it.

I like the idea that is stays cleaner longer. Pad cleaning is great but you have to admit the carpets apperance does not stay great for too long.

Why don't you turn the carpet unside down and then you don't have to worry about cleaning it so often, just pass a damp mop on the rubber, think how extra cushiony it will be .......people will love walking on it, and when you're fed up of the colour........just paint it.

Did you actually put a hold on cleaning that sucker until you got a response to your question. Another happy certified student of IICRC. Hope you sent away for your new membership card before they read this story.                     Jack from Montreal  aka nightrider
