Whole lotta shaking going on with that machine, Ted. I tried it at Connections last year, and as you said, it works very well.

Seems getting sales on Pad machines in the GTA is about as easy as pulling teeth, Ted. People want to make the money with them, but don't want to pay the price of admission to make that money! They are probably comparing the pad machines to the floor machines at $1000 or less and thinking they are expensive?

Good point Mr. Steamer; but I am sure that Ted knows that buying a can of red paint is better than taking the price down another $500 because of the green colour. lol

Well Ted; I think the fact that someone has not snapped up this machine even at the great price of $1500 tells me that there is a need for a much less expensive pad machine out there. The system is a great one that really works as we both know. It seems to point to the need for a less expensive machine to meet that need. You know that I never leave a product need unfulfiled for very long..........................

LOL, the Challenger machine is a fine OP machine Ken, however the price difference not only has to do with construction, ease of use, power and added oscillation, so in effect being it will not last as long, will clean at 1/2 the speed, don't you think the price maybe SHOULD be less than other OP machines.

Ok padman I'll take you up on that.... when your OP burns gas and has a couple of Heat exchangers with a few hundred feet of hose...

I look at it this way once you get a truckmount.... all you need is gas and some water...

once you get an OP machine you still need pads that cost 1/3rd of the machine itself in this case 1/2.... what about the pre-spray... what about the Vacuum... the attachment are more than the cost of the machine....

oppp I forgot a stair tool... and upholstery kit...oh yeah I need pads for those too... and chemical to do furniture... I still need a van to look professional and carry all this crap around...

yo I'm busy and running out of pads.... I need to order more and more..

I forgot to do the laundry... I'll have to do it or I'll run out of pads..

For something that looks so simple it really isn't that cheap

I'm sure John hasn't put his eggs in one basket..... he most likely has other investments.....

my point is the OP isn't as cheap to operate as it looks... hench the reason for charging higher prices...

MR. Steamer, John does have some GOLD COINS stashed  away somewhere....................

But like he has said several times before, most of his savings are invested in his Pad Machine/Pad selling/chemical manufacturing business.

Pad cleaning is only an expensive ongoing expense if you over pay for his equipment when you first get into the business, and then over pay for the pads and chemicals once you are in it. I will soon be able to help cleaners on both those scores.

Ken;

Did you forget that approx. 1 1/2-2 moths ago you stated clearly that Oil was going to be: $100.00 a barrel? It's now at about $44.00)

Did you forget that you had stated many, many times that you were introducing your new high-performance portable (the Raptor?) about 2 years ago.

Or, did you forget that your Aux. tanks ----(humm, wonder where you got that idea???)--just happened to be exactly the same design as Cross-American's.

Or, did you forget where you "learned" (and borrowed) all about the value of CFM's/ Airflow concepts? I think I remember who the Professor was in 1978.

There are many more examples however, I do not want to over-tax your memory. But just think about this and be careful about your response.

And, BTW, Johnny G (alias: The Padman) has one very important aspect that you have not:

HE IS PROVEN WITH HIS GREAT HISTORY AND REPUTATION

You, sir, have a long, long way to go.

Those are my thoughts.

Good Fortune and best wishes to all;

Ed Valentine

Moot point since nobody makes them. But a 1 HP machine is capable of doing everything you could want to do. I would say when the commercial machines get to over 17" we will see 1.5 HP machines come out. They will be needed for say a 20" machine. 2 HP machines would just pop breakers all the time.

You are so right Mr. Steamer. I am selling Titanium wands for only $599 US right now and most Canadian cleaners will not buy them. That works out to only $850 Cdn plus GST delivered to Toronto, without a glide. They were selling in the GTA  a year ago for $1600 Cdn. You would think those GTA cleaners would be running to get this deal.

Cashflow is the main reason I think Chuck, followed by the weather in the GTA this time of the year. But there is a third reason as well. Most cleaners in the GTA do not have the "quality Mentality" to buy equipment, that while more expensive, makes their job easier and more profitable. Ted has been selling to this market for over 30 years now and can attest to that.

The problem I have is this.... my things don't break... if they break I fix them myself... been using the same wand for the past 8 years...it feels good....

If you can fix it and it's still working you get stuck in a time warp...

sometimes money is better spent in other areas...

SOLD

Well I finally sold my Challenger OP Machine. Or should I say he stole it for $1,500.00

Sold it to a truckmount operator in the Maritimes who was very skeptical as all steam cleaners are.

Just talked to him again. He has pad cleaned his downstairs rec room that he claimed was clean. He showed the dirty pad to his wife and she told him to get rid of that smelly fuel burning truckmount.

Just heard again from the new proud owner in the Maritimes. He has been cleaning a restaurant in a large chain hotel with a truckmount and could never get more than 15 cents a sq. ft.

He performed an OP demo and impressed them so much that he did the job the next night for 44 cents a sq. ft.

Even he is having trouble believing it himself.
