Would it be a good idea to ask a potential custy what they usually pay to have there carpet cleaned and if they tell you and it sounds a little higher than what you would offer then undercut the previous guy to steal the custy??

I am new to carpet cleaning and I am sure I have done a couple jobs for way to cheap.

I just got a truckmount yesterday and I want to start getting into my business more,I know that doing jobs for to cheap can drive down the money we can make and I dont really want any part of that.

Why Not..........................The big box stores do it......they meet the price and give an additional 10% of the difference

If you don't make any profit doing it, you can always make it up in volume, right?

Ok thanks guys,I really have no idea how to charge so I guess I am going to kinda plan on doing the under cut thing, business is business, right?

But I know that will only work if they can and will tell me what the last guy charged, hopefully I will be suprised on some of the jobs and think holly crap thats alot of money and I will undercut and still make good money,Hopfully after doing that I can get more inline in with what to charge.

Any other marketing tips for a newbee??????

Thanks guys
