To save some startup you could look into a used "piece".  Of course I don't mean POS.  I am sure if you call around to some of your big competition in town a lot of them will have some decent used equipment for sale for pennies on the dollar and generally would be happy to show you the qwerks of their old machine.  If you are really handy look for two really old busted ones and put them together.  I have seen truck mounts go for $500 just because the pump housing cracked.  You can also ask a dealer if they have any refurbished or used.  I would not recommend to buy anything under 15-16hp.  Really in my opinion, anything under that is basically a over priced portable anyway. Also I know everybody wants to start off with the best they can get, but don't look past portables or truck mounting a portable to start.  SOME of them do a great job and are much cheaper.
Don't forget to haggle on that price from a dealer.  They want you to pay as much as possible for what they have.  I've seen a price drop a few thousand just by asking for break.  Also leasing maybe a good option for you.
If you are going to be focusing on residential cleaning you will need about 150ft of hose.  I have been cleaning for 8 years and never used more than 150 in a home (maybe twice),  I do carry over 200 but I never use it all in a home.  Even if I had to move the truck.
If you want to save money on a pre-sprayer you can buy a $10 walmart gallon garden sprayer.  It's not a long term solution but will get you by untill the funds start coming in also they can make a handy backup if you have any breakdowns.
Don't skimp on chemicals, they make your bussiness grow more than anything else.  It's great products, with the help of a great technician, that do great work. Then the shiny new equipment.
You will need a ton of other ins and outs and I'll leave that for someone else.  Mainly your best asset and biggest expense (money or time wise) is going to be your hard work on advertising your business.  With out that, your just a guy with loan.
