I'm new to the game and starting to get nervous about being a licensed cleaner. Is the exam hard for a basic carpet cleaner, and what is usually the cost.More importantly do you need to be certified.???????????????????????????

No need to be nervous man!! (...Umm Ok..I was nervous too before lol) Just sign up and take the 2 day IICRC course and plunge in and take the exam!! The two day course usually runs about $299 for two full days. The exam is not really that hard at all (I scored a 98%)

And...do you need to be certify?. Well, now since the mills require all cleaners to be certified to be able to clean their carpet or else they'll void the warranty...I would say it wouldnt be a bad idea to get certified.

Certification is bullsh*t. Training is important. Take the course, forget the exam

the test proves nothing. go talk to other cleaners, pay attention to what is being said don't be afraid to ask questions. knowledge can help or hurt you. the most valuable thing you will get is the manual for future reference when you have a concern about something. Go give it your best shot . be all you can be.

Customers don't ask cuz they don't know that certification exists for carpet cleaners. The way that the IICRC is run, they will never find out

12 years and I've never been asked about certification. But if you like to wear IICRC patches on your uniform, it might make a positive impression.

No need to stress too much about the licensing exam for basic carpet cleaning. It really depends on your location, but in many places, the exams aren't crazy difficult. They usually cover basic stuff about cleaning methods, safety, and maybe some regulations. The cost varies too, but it's typically not super pricey.

And about certification, it really depends on where you're operating. Some places might not require it, but having certification can boost your credibility with clients. It's like a badge that says you know your stuff. Plus, it's a good way to stand out in a competitive market. So, while it might seem like a hassle, being licensed and certified can actually work in your favor in the long run.

The statement suggests that taking a test alone is not sufficient to gain knowledge or expertise in a particular field, such as carpet cleaning. Instead, it encourages individuals to engage in conversations with other cleaners, listen to their experiences, and ask questions to expand their knowledge. It emphasizes the importance of acquiring knowledge and highlights the value of a manual for future reference. The statement concludes by encouraging individuals to give their best effort and strive to reach their full potential.
