With all the methods of carpet cleaning no wonder a potential customer could get confused. Everyone has their pitch. Pad, bonnet, steam, hot water extraction, dry shampoo, wet shampoo, von schrader, chemical dry, portable, capture, Hide, Steam Poo and all the franchise names. Servicemaster etc., etc.

Wow,
I am confused thinking about it.

P.S.
I forgot about the Rammm Vannn process.

Carpetologist:  I think the confusion is when someone with an interm maintaince system like bonnet cleaning  thinks they can deep clean a residential carpet.  They say it so much that there comes a time when they actually start to believe their own BS.Guitar

Pads: Question regarding pad,  bonnet or op cleaning.  Is there a pad for heavy jobs? Is there a  pad for light jobs?  Is one pad more absorbant than the other?Guitar

doug, yes yes and yes. you can get a pad that has a brown  abrasive strip for heavy jobs. you can get them with a green astroturf strip for everyday jobs you can get thick ones thin ones. thick being more absorbant than thin.  i've seen cleaning pads man seen em everywhere man.

nothing is impossable. it just hasn't been done yet.

Greg:  I am soooo impressed.  You certainly know just what pad to use.  YOu should be in those commericals for pads not the women that they have . Man you are the true spokesman for PADS.Guitar

Doug:

You asked a good question one that I have often pondered. A Natural made cotton pad it would seem would be the very best for absorption yet most are man made plastic synthetic or a blend of both.

Why:    What ever you chose don't ever wash them with an encapsulation product or they will absorb nothing.  I guess old reliable Hide would come to the pads rescue.

Sorry to bring Hide up again I know the fumes get to you and if all this confuses you then we are in the same boat together.

He has his moments Greg but I think it all depends on how you read it.

I got a different opinion with humour, or maybe I read it wrong too.

The "pads" we refer to for "padding" as in using and oscillating pad (OP) machine are not bonnets at all. They are thick cotton terry cloths that are used with a glider to hold them in place.

We do both bonnetting and padding--two totally different processes.

Padman will show us soon enough. If anybody really wants to see go to ccsop.com .
