If you think you can clean like a TM with just only OP machine on a nasty carpet...Think again. (unless you wanna spend countless hours on the job). A friend sent these posts to me from paddyland (from veteran Op'ers) to have it posted on here (since John banned my azz from his board, For speakin my opinions about Op'in).

Ps- I guess I'm not the only one having these experiences...Maybe, I dont suck at Op'in after all.

Today was the marvelous day! The olifin berber from monkeyland. I wasted 2 hours trying to pad it and just couldnt reach an exceptable level so I gave up and hooked up the TM. It was the right choice. I pre-sprayed a strong mix of d-limonine and traffic lanes cleaner and it desolved MOSt of the horrible black soils.

I couldnt get the pads to pull the horrible black pigmented particles from within that matted crap!(Excuse my language) When I talk with the owner Im going to ask him who or wHaT* lived there and why! Then Im going to charge him accordingly.

Do cavemen have carpet? Most pets are better.

Oh yeah and order an extra everything so youll be safe out there.lol

Another example of why every cleaner needs to have ALL the tools in his toolbox. IMO

Con

yes it is good to hear even about the failures of OP...

Know what your talking about Fred. We see lots of berber that we HWE first before we pad, otherwise we would be there all day.
Don't see how John makes it without a truckmount.

When I am on a berber that is really nasty I move the machine very slowly, plus it is olefin, I use quite dry pads.

Too many guys try to move the machine quickly on those types of carpets, let the machine do the work. It is much faster when you move slower.

Some times a green strip pad work great. It will dig the dirt out then use a cotten pad to remove the dirt.

IMO

Have a great OPee day....

Just curious, how many pads into the first room did you get before you decided to fire up the tm? If you were to have just proceeded with pads, how many do you think it would have taken?

I didnt post this for you STeemer. This post is for all the people who is thinking about gettin a Op set-up because they were told that it would be all that they need to tackle all carpets.

Again, I have nothin against OP (I do it myself). But, Lets get all the facts (good and bad) out there for the people to know...Before, they put out all that cash for a set-up.

At MikeFest we tried out a Cimex and a Brute. The Brute did a nice job. The result spoke for itself.

It was hard to say if the Cimex or the OP was better. I like both machines. I think in a large job the Cimex would be considerably faster. On the other hand I think the OP might be considered more manuverable. Pads don't need changing where you are constantly changing terry on
an OP. An OP can be used on residential and carried up stairs. Forget a Cimex on residential.

I own a Cimex and don't have and OP but I will get one eventually.

I have an o.p machine that is on wheels. Works great. Its just like a two wheel dolly going up and down stairs. As far as being limited to one cleaner is crazy.Since purchasing my o.p i have used my extracter 1 time. I had a church call me that had flooded. It does a good job af holding my thermas in the van. I really know that with a little research and the best chems that i dont need an extracter to clean carpets. There are tricks one needs to learn to do a perfect job on carpets. As with a truckmount. It just takes time. I would have to say that you can clean 99.9% of the carpet you come across with an o.p machine. I did put my o.p on a super small area rug and it kinda took me for a ride. My two cents worth. Thanks

My Accelerator cleans with Brute Force. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Yes, the changing of pads is a pain in the a$$ and the washing is worse. But, how do you handle it when you Cimex and the customer asks "Where does the dirt go?" So now you explain 'Encap' and how do you expect the to believe you? With OP you say nothing...they see and have their answer.

I am not knocking the Cimex. We also sell them. But as the old lady in the Wendy's commercial said "Where's the Beef?"..."Where's the Dirt?"

I personally find the Brute - Accelerator very easy to maneuver and less fatiguing. I honestly feel productivity is about the same. The nice thing about OP and Cimex is the electrical cord. When in the way of the turning action it just gets tossed back out. Old timers know what happens to the cord on rotaries.

Ted you and I both know thats Bull ...where does the dirt go???? they aint asking that...I've used it on 3 commercial jobs and the only thing they have asked me is....when is it going to dry....and will it look this good when it dries.

one of the jobs was a health canada office...and they wheren't even there.

most time in commercial they aint even there anyways.

for the real busy commercial cleaner... 3 or 4 big jobs in a week could have you drowning in laundry....LOL

there is a idea for you Ted..... charge a fee to pick up and wash soiled pads...big business

they could call you the soiled pad guy...ooooooo

while your washing pads...I'll be relaxing with my poly scrub and run machine
