Hello to all, I am new to this forum and planning in starting a part time business as a carpet  & Upholstery cleaner.  I am going to follow a IICRC Carpet & Upholstery courses SOON.

I have been reading quite a bit about cleaning technics, machines & truckmounts.  The more I read the more i get confused. I was thinking about the Von Schrader Vs1 and Esprit,  anybody know anything about theses machines and their cleaning propreties.

Would appreciate any info and would like to kno what are the Pro's & Con's of the different machines & cleaning methods.

Thank You in advance to all

Hello, I use to use von schraders. The upholstery machine works great and easy to use. Its hard to mess anything up with. The LMX and VS1 carpet cleaners in my opinion were on the slow side. But they do a good job. Anytime i had helpers with me they always said they didnt like how often you have to dump and refill. Good machines thou. Just my 2 cents Thanks

Have a good guy's and thanks.Smile

Fisherman

Your right there are plenty of machines around and everyone has a different opinion.  In reality if you are looking at a portable they basically all have the same guts......pumps and motors.......my advice is to find a distributor that you know will service all your needs......its a good place to start.  By the way if you are looking to take the IICRC carpet cleaning course.....Kleen Kuip is having one in  April.

So I'm assuming you like to Fish Tongue

Thanks http://www.kleenkuip.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=55&FID=11 - Adwa  for the info,  I'm going to take a closer look.  And yes i love to fish for Bass, Nusky, Walleye and anything that swim.

Carpetologist why do you say that a von schrader would not be the best to start whit?  And what would it be and why?

I appreciate the info as of I am trying to make up my mind as of which type of machine sould I buy first to begin with.

I would like to make the best investment possible that would give me ease of operation, durability, and be kind of fool proof.

Thanks guy's

My feeling is most consumers seem to accept steam extraction as a preferred method and so would I, especially if the carpet is extremely soiled.

I will not knock the VS as I have many customers who make an excellent living with it as they tend to work into higher income areas.  Surprisingly higher income area consumer seem to be infatuated with something different that the masses don't do.  Strange but true.

Its generally marketed as a dryer faster system and usually they charge more for the process.  VS is also used by many as a in-term maintenance system.  The unit sells for two or three times as much as other equipment does.  I would personally only want it as a second or third option for equipment.  If you are still interested the one on our site is an exceptional deal or for that matter to discuss any type of equipment.  Please give me a call 800-565-2574

    Hi. welcome. I had some vonschrader machines. the upholstery machine and some floor machines. they did a great job. problem is, they are intermeate methods of cleaning. no matter what racine tells you, they leave lots of soap in the carpet.

i was sitting in jon don class and my instructor told me that and I went, wow. I didn't know that. So I switched and went to portable and finally a truck mount. with my rx20 roto scrubber I get the same scrubbing action as the von S. and I rinse away all the prespray soap..

then I follow up with a bonnet and dry it.

let me know if you'd like to talk more.

good luck,

frankie C.

Thanks for your comment Frankiechocolat, it is very Interesting.

 I will go to my IICRC classes very soon and do not wont to buy any machine before theses classes.  I will have lots of questions for the instructor.

I want to get the best machine or machines to give the best possible cleaning job to my future clients.  And yes Frankiechocolat  I'd like to talk more.

Thanks and I am still searching to acquire more knoledge.

Fisherman;

I would also advise going to see Kleenkwip since they are located in Canada.

However, the most important reason to visit them, is not just to meet ted harding, The Carpetologist, but rather,
THE BOARD QUEEN, the Lovely and Talented, ADWA!

I understand she hugs all the customers then serves them tea & Cruppets.

The very best
Good Fortune to all;
