Where are the other cleaners advertising. In what section? When I used to advertise I used to specify where I wanted my ad. It would be beside say the crossword puzzle all the time. My other ads would say see our ad beside the crosswors puzzle if you are running a special. I would find a good spot and request it for all my advertising. Let the rest stay on the same page all bunched together? Sometimes you just have to make your point with the advertising agent you are dealing with at the paper, most of them are on some sort of commission so just want to sell you an ad and go. Tell them exactly what you want and where you want to be?

You never want to be on the same page as another cleaner?  I used to go in those. I would want exclusivity it worked for awhile. Now when I look at them it is like looking a a price war of specials amongst cleaners?  I used to also do a word ad in those like a cleaning topic it made you look like a contributer and that would make you stand out as not being just c arpet cleaner.

WE've had such horrible weather and lots of salt and dirt. We are so close to Christmas and its still a bit messy outside I think lots of people have decided to wait til after Christmas or even latter. Bummer. This caught me off guard. Last year this time I was working for another CC up island and they were going like stink. I am pretty sure it is the weather becuase lots of guys are slow now.

Commercial is steady year round, residential slows down in the winter

Posted By: pilediver
Date Posted: 07/December/2006 at 12:01am
Being relatively new to the business I have been trying to feel out the various opportunites. I have found that the commercial I have done is predictable and steady. I think that it is worth it to me and I have been getting a good rate for it. I won't take jobs that keep me up after 2 in the morning and I don't think I need to. Another area that I am deliberately avoiding is apartments.

Consider highlighting what sets you apart. Maybe it's your eco-friendly practices, lightning-fast drying times, or a satisfaction guarantee. Use the ad or social media space to showcase your unique selling points and share a customer success story or two. Adding a dash of humor or a catchy slogan could also make your post memorable.
