You can all talk about your wonderful chemicals...this for this spot...this for that spot...the other for the other spot.....Trust me don't get reliant on these chemicals...Soap and water is all you need...

if they can't take it out...don't bother...just tell the customer that the stain can't come out...These chemicals are hurting the environment...hurting the customers and hurting yourself.....

Weather you want to believe it or not...I've cleaned lots and lots and lots of carpet...what I tell you is from experience...I have never had anything I've ever cleaned brown out...or ruined any carpet or furniture...never spent a dime replacing anyones rugs...and I do an average of 1500 calls a year.

Soap and Water not good for the chemical producers or distributors...but good for your health...

Yes lets call a spade a spade

Are you on drugs or something?????????????????

One of the best stain removers is hydrogen peroxide. H202. Evaporates completely into the air as hydrogen and oxygen. Takes out wine, coffee, tea and numerous other things and is harmless on most carpet yarn.

Just because you don't know how to do something doesn't mean you should spew out this crap you do.

Why on earth would someone WANT to hire a cleaner who can't take out stains????????????????????

Yes this is true...but if used incorrectly...it can and will take the color right out....so what happens then...you replace the carpet...lol

Fresh and Clean can afford it

If I where to use H2O2...the customer would have to sign a waiver....

why risk it......I hope you get paid for what you do

Maybe steamer would he lives life on the edge???  Edge of what I don't know?  This is where training and education pays off.  learning to experiment and successfully use different methods of spot and stain removal. Spot and stain removal is not everyone's cup of tea,  but  I you are scared to attempt any proceedures than reccomend someone who will.  You client will still probably still call you because you were the one to reccommend a specialist to solve their probablem.  REMEMBER THE SPOT BELONGES TO THE CUSTOMER.  THE HOLE BELONGS TO YOUUUU!!!!!  Bashing IICRC over this issue is no excuse for ignorance.  When ever there is a disagreement . The less knowledgable attack the IICRC over any thing they feel will help their side of the debate.  This is just my opinion at least I thought it was, I am not sure at this point.

Stanley I agree with you sir.

What kind of soap do you use?

Yesterday was cat piss day for me and I don't normally do cat piss. Today I feel like total CRAP!

I used the hand tool on the cat piss and I took in a lot of fumes

I'm really looking to get out of this nasty azz business! The ecocrap does not work. The only stuff I found that works is the stuff that makes you sick.

That Chemspec upholstery pre spray is brutal man!

Using an upholstery prespray on urine??? Using your hand tool on urine???Using a portable on urine???  How did the rest of the occupants feel??  You definately have to check the make up of urine.  It sounds if it is not on the lable of the cleaner there is a problem. Did you remove the urine or make more of it???  I think this problem has been discussed in detail in this form.  This is just my opinoin.  Stanley's Tide will not help either.

who bashed the IICRC...that topic is a dead horse....and thats all it was a topic...another point of view...

I just look at it this way....yes it's nice to remove stains if your getting paid for it...most of the chemicals are toxic and hurtful...doing unseen damage to your insides...the true green way it to leave it alone...

some ne should promote stain removal...I would recommend them to all the customers I do.

I have also realized that I work in a very different market from all of you...where time does not permit a lot of things a private guy or a small business can provide....

When I do my own calls...I do take the time to do it correctly, and a lot of things I would normally charge for I can through in for free

Now reread your last statement Stanley.

"when I do my own calls .....I do take the time to do it correctly,......"

Hmmmmmm what is this called? foot in mouth disease? denial? guilt?

I've yet to take color out of a carpet with h202 in 5 years.

If I don't at least try to take out stains what good is it me being there??

there are quite a few non toxic stain removers.

if you want to take out rust, gum, filtration and urine stains without harmful chemicals look at Ultrachem's "Clean".

Why would you use a hand tool on urine unless the hand tool is a water claw?

I can get rust out with just soap....and gum...and filtration it all depends on the elbow grease your willing to use and the time you want to spend....

Oh yeah lee...I ment I have time to do freebee's...not looking at the clock...I can spend time to take out 50 pieces of gum...cuz I'm getting paid well and CASH to do it

its not foot in mouth....it's cash in pocket!!!

Stanley or Steamer:  Why do you have an excuse for everything?  You don't have time, You work differently, nobody understands.  Well that is nothing but a big pile of bullsh*t.  People who hire you hire you because you are cheaper than doing it themselves and why should they pay more?  It is the same results they get.  You have said it yourself no stain or spot removal just what ever comes with your soap and water.  Do you tell these people you cannot take a spot off because it takes time or because it is hazardous to your health.  Now you can jump all over this but this is what you are saying. Unless the job is for you than you do it correctly.  I have always found that it takes no longer to do it right the first time.  This is my opinionGuitar

Your pretty happy doug...always singing lately...lol no no no it does take longer to do things correctly.......in my game time is money...you do the best job you can in time alotted...you have 4 to 6 calls to get through...travel time clean time...eat in the truck time..while driving time....The customers get mad when your late...the office starts to give stuff away free at your expense.......so you pace yourself to make it through a day....

People call Sears because they have no faith in anyone else...it's up to companies like yours and others to step up to the plate...pay for the advertising...and show the population that there are alternatives...

why do you think I sub....cuz when I was running the ads..in the yellow pages...in the newspapers...dropping flyers and telemarketing IT COSTS ALOT with some times not the return you need or want...not the customers you need or want........

I can do a Sears job and the bill will run up to a grand......easy

Try doing as well if I'm using Stanley's carpet cleaning.....they cry about the price...only the people who know the true value of your work are willing to pay...

most of the customers that I've serviced can't or don't want another cleaner....maybe it's my smile...maybe it's my perfume...or maybe I just know how to service a customer correctly with just soap and water.

I know it sounds like bull to you...but I live that bull everyday

You know what Stanley/Mr Steamer..........There is one thing I have to give you.........and that's consistancy.....If I wanted an employee, I would want one with you attitude, at least I would know just where I stand......I would rather an employee consistantly bad like Stanley than one that is Good one day, lousy the next, then excellent, then bad.

At least you know what jobs to give a guy like Stanley,........... all the crappy ones.

Bottom line is you want to do 3/4 of a job , you only do it "correctly" for your own customers. Its here in print for all to see.
