Subject: Prochem Peak
Date Posted: 25/July/2006 at 12:17am
I am looking at buying a New Prochem Peak and was wondering what I can expect for Fuel useage while cleaning carpets/uphol. I am presently using a Cleanco compact 45 in a 2004 van with a 6.0L V8 running it at 1800 RPM for working. I was told that the peak will use around .75 gallons per hours once broke in and the van is using around 1.5 gallons per hour.

Was just wondering if you thought this sounds close to real numbers?

I was also wondering what I can expect for heat from the Peak, using the Prochem Wand with the 6 jets on it, I am getting around 185F with the Cleanco at the unit.

Thanks

well I don't have a Peak but I do run a Legend XL and a Compact

on full days

the Cleanco will run 60 - 70 canuck bucks a day

the Legend will cost around 25-30 plus 10-15 bucks a day van fuel (it's in a diesel van)

doesn't sound like a huge difference but it adds up

the Legend runs a steady 220-230 atm

while I dont even look at the Cleanco guage cuz I know it's gonna Cleancold

Mine hits 240 atm when it goes above 25C outside. It never runs below 190, even when it's -30C.Big smile

Well I can say that my Cleanco is a great machine and has given me 5000 hours of near trouble free work, but as gas prices rise I am finding that my monthly fuel bill is getting out of control.

When I purchased my new Cleanco over 6 years ago I had it installed into a Brand new 1999 chey 3/4 ton Van and after about the third year of operation things started wearing out way faster than they should have for the amount of Kms on the van.

When I traded it in last summer for my current van it had a new Motor , Transmission , shocks and many other smaller things fixed or replaced on it. I had become a fixture at my local dealership and they came to realize when I was there it was to fix that van AGAIN!!

Now I am the first to admit that yes maybe I got a lemon from the factory and it was just bad luck, but frankly I guess I  am to the point now with gas prices and the more wear the direct drives put on the van I do not feel like having to buy a third van just as I get the second one paid for:)

just my 2 cents

time for 2 new units myself.....when the unit is working fine... you have payments...when you don't have payments you have repairs....

new truck and unit can run over 80k easy as pie...

I don't understand why prices are so cheap when our costs are so high
