I use a buffer with a bonnet using formula 90 and energiser, also use with dirt chaser that has enzyme. Chem dry uses the same equipment. What is in the sauce? Does anyone knows if it is a foam ? Using a buffer what is the best chemicals for this machine? Chem dry chemicals What is it and what chemicals works better? |

I worked for Chem-Dry for several years. They don't use a foam; it's a
carbonated solution, the exact ingredients of which are kept secret.
"Trade Secrets" are common in this business. Masterblend has something
very similar now, or at least it seems to be. I have a sample, but I
haven't used it. Anyway, my methodology is derived from my time at
Chem-Dry and what I learned via certification. I usually extract using an RX-20, then buff. But some customers opt for the cheaper "maintenence clean," which is just buffing. Anyway, so far, I'm very happy with Chemspec's DFC 105. It works as well as Chem-Dry, but with a lighter application (better dry times) and no residue. Xerion is also great stuff. There are lots of bonnet cleaners out there. Experiment with some of them. |

Ok! Carbonation I use a syryp canister and I co2 it with air same thing right? RX 20 is used with an tm I thought? So this means you steam with an rx then bonnet? Lastly DFC 105 or do you mix it with something see I am looking for something other than formula 90 and energiser? Thanks! |

I use the RX-20 with a portable extractor (Ninja 500, very satisfied).
Yes, I follow up with a bonnet (first a poly bonnet, then a cotton
bonnet). By the time I finish, I've gone over that carpet several
times. It looks great, and it's almost dry. Pressurizing a cannister will not make its contents carbonated. Chem-Dry has a powder that they add to water in order to make their cleaning solution. The powder reacts to water like Alka Seltzer, except much more intense. That's what makes it fizzy. The co2 in the cannister only pressurizes the solution so you can spray--it has nothing to do with the carbonation. When I use the DFC 105, I sometimes boost the cleaning with a citrus-based solvent, like Bridgepoint's "Citrus Solv" or KleenRite's "Dissolve Citrus," but you'll need a solvent-safe cannister for that. You can also use the solvent undiluted as a spotter. Then have some other spotting chemicals on hand for whatever else comes up (urine, etc.). Most of my arsenal is made up of either Chemspec, Bridgepoint, or Pro's Choice products, but there's a lot of effective stuff out there. |

Alright ! I will try to use the DFC 105 and I have citrus solve and yes I understand about other ingredients such as the dirt chaser with enzyme by pro choice or whatever the situation to treat accordingly. I am going to try to come up with something to make the carpet solution fiz for dry cleaning just for the hell of it anyone have any ideas? Thanks Michael |

Hydrogen peroxide ? How do you go about getting that is it in some particular carpet cleaning chemical or ??? I do think hydrogen peroxide can help the carpet! Thanks! |

| Hadn't heard that, but I do know that Chem-Dry handles all of Home Depot's warranty work now. That occurred shortly before I left the fold. Corporate receives 20% of the take on those jobs. |

77748, Hydrogen Peroxide is in http://www.kleenkuip.com/products/ccCrystal.htm - Carpet Cleaning Crystal by Core Products. If you are looking for fiz throw in a handfull of Cow Brand Baking Soda. It's reaction produces Carbon Dioxide. Michael, From what we see here at KK DFC is the closest product I have seen to the Chem-Dry formula. Changing peoples minds to use a friendlier, healthier product is a difficult task. Seems that most want to kill a mouse with an elephant and coffing and chocking while doing it. You say you use RX-20 then bonnet. Obviously you are dedicated to the proper equipment and quality. Suggestion: In stead of spin-bonneting try an orbitor with a 100% Egyptian pad. I'd really like to try it, Ted. I'm in a new business, though, so
additional equipment is taking a back seat for now. For what it's
worth, I bought a Hawk dual speed buffer (175-300 rpm, 1.5 hp) in
addition to the RX-20. I just wanted a better buffer for the bonnet
jobs, and I wanted one that could effectively be used with Xerion and
eventually do light restorative work on hardwood (e.g., Bridgepoint's
wood treatment system). So, when I finish up with buffing, it's not
with the crappy 135 rpm of the RX-20. Oh, and an edit for my previous post: I use the Ninja 400, not the 500. |

Hi everyone Can you please tell me ( sorry for my ignorance ) 1. For what sort of carpets/quality of jobs bonet carpet cleaning is used as the only cleaning method ? 2. Can I sue the bonnet cleaning machine for hard floor scrubbing and polishing , of course with diffrenet pads ? Cheers Kiwi George

Sorry it should have been use -:) How ever I think i am going to buy the Activator for both the carpet and hardfloor cleaning as a second more cersatile machine . Anyone has experince with it or anything better to suggest

| It just depends on the carpet, the quality of the equipment used, and the quality of the tech who performs the cleaning. I often inform my customers that there are many cleaning methods, and each of them has their place, but the most important thing is that you have a technician who puts in the effort to do quality work. |
