I'm looking at purchasing a Rotovac very soon and was wondering if anyone has had any problems or conerns with the machine?  From everything I've seen it is a great piece of equipment but I'm trying to make a cautious decision before joining the CC business.

Thanks

GSAND,

If you budget is tight you could skip the RotoVac purchase until further into your program. It is an excellent unit but very slow and does not work on all carpet effectively.

If still interested we will have one demo model up on this site very soon.

Stay tuned...

Cleans like a champ especially in  dirth filthy disgusting situations and brings carpet back to life carpet fibers stand up like walking on a pillow the next day ok I am over doing it. Its my (restoration unit)

I use to have a problem where they where it left the carpet too wet . Solution to that was to replace the spray jets from I belive from a 1.5 to 1.0 and got the glides. I also re angled them 1 sprays center the othe little in and the other little out. For residential and corners hands down the way to go over rx20. Spray jets got from Rotovac Corp (inexpensive)

Carpetologist is correct some carpets as olefin, neither the  rx20 or the  rotovac works well worse if the foundation is uneven causing wicking in a bad way. Wand it or buff it using the green stripe bonnet pad.

I can also tell you this when I do use it I get repeat businesss for sure because the customer is blown away. Get them on a 3 to 6 month cleaning program. Not to mention they tell there friends.

Rotovac? It is easy enough to disassemble and clean with soap and water. Depending on how often you use the Rotovac and if you live in an area with very hard water like I do, then you'll need to run a solution of distilled white vinegar and distilled water through it about once a quarter. Mineral buildup reduces the efficiency of the spray jets and if not regularly cleaned will end up being clogged altogether.

CTD

PS... The Rotovac (in my humble opinion), is the best thing since canned beer. It has done nothing but made us a grip of money!

Dont forget to clean the most important part, Pull the heads ever job or 2 and clean the vac chambers also pull the 2 small hoses and clear them. Even a little debri will effect vacuum.

Run a water hose down the wand with the heads off and flush it out.

When washing the heads be careful that you don't get anything down the solution tube that could clog the jets.

Blow the frame off with compressed air but don't blow anything into the motor.

Remove the wheels from time to time to clean the fuzzies out of them.  I made a stainless axle for my front wheel, it works much better now.

With the heads on, turn the machine on and hold a wet brillo pad up to clean the edge of the heads.

Remember to replace the brushes and felt washers.
