Here we go again Dr McKeown, Toronto's medical officer of health claims that dirty homes can cause brian damage. His study shows that household dust can contain lead, and this dust is the biggest source of exposure which can harm a child's brain, resulting in learning and behavioral problems. He also goes on to say PBDE's [polybrominated diphenyl ethers] found in carpets also falls into that category and we should remove the carpets as part of the removal of these dust particles, and only have surfaces that are easy to clean.

This is part of a half page article in the Toronto Sun last week.

I guess it's much better for all that dust etc. to be airbourne???

somebody needs to tell the doc to quit being so cheap and have his carpets professionally cleaned more often

As a good friend said to me his house must be full of dirty carpets, because it sure has  touched his brain.

I've lost some loyal customers when they removed carpet (allergies and recommended by their doc..) But ended up getting a few back when they said "all we have is hardwood floors"... add more services... lose less custy's...... and always reminded them of the need for upholstery cleaning....
