Subject: Anti-Foam Chemical

I am having a problem with commercial glue down carpets, unlike my
residential jobs, i am getting more than double the foam and suds, i
have to dump the recovery tank before it's half full. I don't want to
kill my motors, Recommendations on chemicals or processes?

Jared;
That is a very EASY situation to solve. And, unlike the norm, we recommend (as Tmac has) something totally different & UNIQUE and EFFICIENT.

Thanks John L, Ed, and TMac for your useful comments. And thanks Dennis
for your usual drunken posts involving little or no thought and even
less intelligence.
I'll be in touch Ed, been using the prespray that i bought from you, almost out though. I may reorder with some anitfoam.

Whatever jarwad...
I gave you a direct and correct answer to your question and I get that from you....but then again a question like that takes little thought to answer and not much inteligence either.
BUT, you do prove that there are no stupid questions, but there are many inquisitive idiots!

i wasn't looking for sarcasm, the topic of the thread was specifically
stating that i was looking for a "anti-foam chemical", seems pretty
simple. Dennis is a little upset about the whole SGK issue and
following me around, so i'm trying to make his life interesting also,
that's all.
Any recommednations on brands of defoamers Mr. Steamer? I would appreciate any input or experiences.

You are always ready to provide substantial amounts of experience and
professionalism in all of your postings, that's what i like about you.
What kind of defoamers would you recommend? (to get back on track)
Surprise me, give me some useful information, i'm dying to know if you
actually clean carpets or just invade threads.

I have Chemspec Crystal Defoamer on my truck right now. I have never used another brand, so I can't compare, however it seems to work just fine. I don't use it very often.
You happy now, jarwad DePOG?

I havnt had much need for a defoamer, they all do pretty much the same job and like everything in CC there is a huge variant in prices.
If ever your caught and are in need of some defoamer while out doing a job, some light sewing machine oil will do the trick for you.

Defoamer should be used as an insurance policy. Just in case foam gets into the system without your knowledge it can damage and shorten the life of vacuum motors.
Adding defoamer when you see foam is like closing the barn door after the horse gets out. Even if you use foamless products you still have to worry about what the last guy left behind.
P.S. Remember whatever you add to your vac tank mists and comes out the exhaust in odor-form. Fleece also works but as said before don't use domestic products. They hired you because you know what they don't.

you don't have to fill your tank with the stuff... just a light spray in the waste tank enterance... or the hose ends... or just around the top of the tank...

Have you seen the way CD flames truckmounts in their ads?
If they are that good, why do they have to make up such far out stuff.
One ad I saw said we spray down 100 gallons of water and only extract 40 gallons of it. Thats just over 500lbs of water we are suppose to be leaving.
I only have a 65 gallon tank.
