I am interested in buying a rotary tool.  And I would like to know what you pros recommend the RX-20 or the Rotovav cleaning wand.  I know that they each do the same job but which one is better for residential and commercial work.  Thanks for your opinion and by the way I live in Michigan (southeastern) and do mostly single wand work with a Butler system (high heat option)

Rotovac = Residential

RX20 = Commercial and residential

Rx20 will do more and faster.Get it if you have a TM. RV is the one to use if you use portables.

You may want to look at the Hydro Master Jet-less Rotary Extractor.  It cleans fast and leaves carpet very dry.

There is also a lot of talk about the OP and Dry Cleaning Method.

Adwa; lets just say in the GTA the cleaners wanted a machine that sells at a lower price point than the one that Andy is talking about. The building composition of the GTA figures into this as well. With many high rise and commercial buildings in the GTA, a rotary and an OP machine are very much needed. In other centers where TMs are very practical, the OP does not hold the same advantage. $100 oil could change that however, and I still believe we will see it by this November.

I lived there for many years Steamer, so I still consider it my second home. In fact, I set up my wand production facility there as well. We start producing there in September. That is only a short 6 weeks away.

Steamer, you should know better than that. I only build high performance when it comes to titanium. I do however sell some nice SS SuperGlide wands in the USA complete with glides for only $149.95US that I have on special now for a limited time.That is the best wand deal anywhere in the USA.I will be selling those ones in Canada for $249.95 Cdn(incld S&H) at any stocking SuperGlide distributor, which will also be Canada's best wand buy with glides.Shipping is extra on the American price.

Pay him with a US money order.  I guess he doesn't want to sell to Canadians. The US cleaners are easier prey?

-------------
Just My opinion

Posted By: Superglide Ken
Date Posted: 01/August/2005 at 3:56pm
Nope, that aint it. The companies we buy these wands from wont drop ship to Canada for us because it being a different country. So in order to sell to Canadians up here, I have to have them shipped up to my warehouse in Calgary separatly, before I can ship them on from here. That costs much more money, and drives up the costs. The math looks like this:

SuperGlide SLU Wand.............$150US
Shipping to Calgary..............$89US

------------------------------------------
Total in US Dollars...............$239.00US
Total in Cdn Dollars..............$299Cdn(@1.25 exch)

So you see, Canadians are simply paying the higher costs(exchange and transportation) of getting them here. The regular price of $199.95US that we normally sell these for will be back in effect later this month. So this is a good time to buy for Canadians IMO.

Steamer: After we get producing these wands ourselves in the GTA, the prices for cleaners there for them will still be close to the $249.95 we are charging here now. Remember, if wands(with glides)could be sold in Canada by someone else for less than $299 Cdn, somebody else would already be doing it, and I can tell you; no one else is.Unfortunatly in Canada, there is just not alot of sales demand for wands. Ted would tell you that. In the GTA, the only wands that he sells go out with portable ninjas most of the time, with very few being bought as a stand alone item. That is why alot are not bought in in big quantities to get the shipping cost down.The average wand in Canada sells for over $500 Cdn as a result, without glides.

In the USA, it is a different situation. Because most wands are made there,and priced in the stronger US currency, the nomimal cost there is much lower. Because of this, many cleaners buy 2 or more wands for their TMS. Shipping costs are much lower as well, and when a distributor commits to by hundreds of wands per year from a wand manufacturer, that manufacturer will often drop ship the product, making 2 ship charges un-necessary.That is the difference. Right now, no wands are made in Canada in any kind of quantities to get costs lower here. That will soon change.
