I don't know for sure, but I think it is. With the Hurricane season just getting started and with us to about November, and supply as tight as it is for light sweet crude right now, the odds are very high that this target price will be obtained with the next 4 months. Do you have any idea what $90.00 /barrel would mean, the American dollars would crumble to nothing, and all those trillions of dollars that the Arabs have in American banks keeping the American people alive would also crumble to nothing.............so what would the net gain be for the Arabs............" 0 " ( Unless of course they are already taking money out and buying all the gold and silver, and investing into the Euro ) Then United States would be a falling nation as it is nevermentioned in the Bible towards the end times and Europe will be the new Power House Nightrider |

$90 oil will be tough for the American economy to deal with, but it has been there before on an inflation adjusted basis when it it $40 back in 1980 during the Iranian revolution. $40 then would equal $90 today in purchasing parity. $90 dollars cannot be sustained however, because it will suppress demand and encourage too much new supplies. The net effect is there will be a price crash as happened back in 1985, five years after the last major price spike. Ken if you keep looking back in time and compare prices of yester-year to 2005. We should be living in a more comfortable economic world as we speak. 1973 I was earning 275.00 /week convert that to todays salery and that would be approx.$2000-$2200/week. Gas at that time was selling for .08 cents /litre or 37 cents/gallon. Milk was 27 cents quart, tomatos were 10 cents/pound and the list goes on, plus there were more safety nets in place to handle inflation, unemployment,& welfare. $90.00 oil would spell the beginning of major tribulation worldwide, I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm saying I hope that impossibility is not about to knock on the worlds door. That tribulation of which you speak can not begin to happen without the EU leader signing the peace pact between Isreal and the Arab nations.As long as America holds it's present economic power, that is not going to happen. Therefore, America must lose that power first for Europe to take over as that dominant power. There will be a trigger that will lead to that downfall, and I believe that the rise of oil will be that trigger.
