Subject: Have you ever noticed

I'm manning the phones today.... it's pretty dead... a few calls...

I think the phone has rung 5 times since 9 am...

but every time one line rings the other rings right after so I have to put someone on hold, and sometimes they hang up

WHY???? it always happens

Have you ever noticed ...that some people like to waste your time telling you their whole life story.....just book damn it

why don't people like a 2 hour window??? they want exact times...

After the cleaning and there a few spot left behind, why do they ask if there is anything they can use to take them out???

Almost All people who ask you to quote on carpet cleaning say the same thing over and over and over.

"HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO DRY"

Your answer could be:

If drying time is an issue, may I suggest our Crystal Dry Cleaning System that dries in 1/2 an hour or less.  Its only one third or so more to purchase this service.

I have many customers who love this added benefit.

If you add an enzyme digester  and acid rinse I would agree with you steamer. A true carpet cleaner has to be able to deal with urine.

a Little Kill odour too... sorry... or kill odur plus...use it as a pre-spray...

A lot of us don't want to use a little bit of elbow grease... just want to spray on and rinse off...

A lot of cleaners don't even prespray... so no wonder you have to spot so much....

I hear it from all my new customers.... they can't believe I pre-spray every sq inch... THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN IT DONE BEFORE

Mr. Steamer: You need an after hours answering service.  I get a few calles on weekends and late at night and very earily in the morning.  What I found is sunday calls people were usually drunk and called first thing monday to cancel?? Call them back and nobody remembers calling.

I'm with you on that one. The specialized gum removers kill me. OMS and elbow grease: goodbye gum, candy, grease spots, etc. The reason I've been looking so hard for a good green cleaner (I know you don't agree--that's cool) is that I want ONE clearly defined method for doing my job. There are exceptoins (e.g., brown out), but I like to keep it simple.

And phones, yeah . . .  it's as if people expect a phone bank or something. Maybe better hold music?

I guess so....

But I hate to hear it ring knowing that it could be a possible job.

so I answer....

Then it's just a damn question

Steamer;

I can feel your pain. That certainly is frustrating at best when someone hangs up.

I would also suggest getting the customers phone number and calling them back. People naturally hate to "wait", even for a few seconds waiting in line at McDonalds.

Go get 'em!!!!

The very best and good fortune to your business;
