Good day! Florida was very profitable for many restoration companies during Hurricane season last year.  In fact, some companies are still cleaning up down here.  Being that Hurricane Season 2005 has just begun, can anyone give me pointers on why one restoration company would get called before the next?  I mean, there was honestly millions or billions of dollars spent cleaning up last year - and obviously not one company could handle all the work...  We are gearing up for what they say is going to be another bad season (but who can predict the weather).  Being this is our first year in Restoration (as owners),  we want to make sure we get a piece of the "Hurricane Pie".  Any tips on helping to make this happen?  Insurance Lists? Etc?

Maybe they are part of the claims for cash club.  Most of the larger restorations companies are usually part of a prefered vendor program.  You can go visit some brokers or adjusters but until you prove yourself to them good luck in getting any referrals.  Breaking into the restoration as an independent is not easy that is why some are part of a franchise or association or whatever it takes.  maybe you should try to talk to some of the big guys or to ageneral contractor who maybe able to stear some work your way. Just  remember when working for someone else. TRUST NO ONE!  Get your paprerwork in order as to make sure you are paid by the contractor in a reasonable amount of time.  I better quit and let one of the board experts help you out.
