Willy

If you are referring to the new CCD 148 Carpet Standard our new DFC 105 and DFC 210 are approved - they just have not be put on their website yet. This will be done at their speed not ours.

Our ECOgent is approved under CCD 146 although once again I do not know if it up yet on their website. We had to do some additional bacterial testing for them. This was done, paperwork submitted etc. and is approved.

You will see us listed under Cleaning Products with Low Potential for Environmental Illness and Endocrine Disruption.

If all of this isn't confusing enough, then you can add the fact that Standards ECP-33, ECP-57 and PRC-097 are going to be replaced by CCD 146 and CCD 148 very soon. They originally said May 1, 2005 but have pushed that date back. Hope this helps

Fast as a glacial retreat. Why on God's Green Earth do people seem to go out of their way to make things complcated? I tried to get through to Telus to query about DSL. After a few spins around the completely confusing "directory" (Push button 1 for billing, 2 for account balance, bla, bla, bla), I hung up and decided cable was the way to go. The Environmental Choice program is doing the same damn thing.

Actually Willy - this time I might defend them. They are good people with good intentions. I have met with quite a few of them and while I do wish they would update their website quicker I will say again their intentions are honorable.

They are one of the few organizations (along with the Europeans) who want to continually raise the bar on anyone claiming "green". This is a good thing. I have already heard that one company currently registered will not go ahead to change their product to meet CCD 146. Too bad for them

I just find it CONFUSING when products that have an intended market aren't listed as such.

UC not gonna comply?

Willy - the reason that they keep pushing back the date is to accomodate existing stakeholders. All companies have had over 1 year to change their formulas to comply.

Environmental Choice does not really want anyone to lose their certifications. It is in the public's interest to have as many companies as possible. The reason they keep pushing the date back is that as the bar is raised, some companies are having trouble meeting these new standards.

I don't think that this forum is place to say who is and who isn't having trouble meeting these new standards. i can say that our Company will not - either with ECOgent or the new DFC
