are they tight wads???

Everytime I look at the "used but not abused" stuff on this site I see alot of things that have been there a while and just can't believe it's still there.

It's not like Ted isn't negotiable

I just don't get it,,,,,if Kleen Kuip was over here 3/4's of that stuff would be gone in a week.

Heck, at those prices (even with the $ exchange & shipping) I could unload his stuff in Australia with a not-too-greedy markup & still be doing the 'right thing' by my brother cc'ers.

(& sisters!)

Everyone wants the newest gear to do the work for them.  Soon though, they'll learn that getting the corners, behind doors, scrubing the traffic lanes (at very LEAST) could be accomplished with equipment that's 3 or 4 years old.

Get a NEW vacuum cleaner.  Get a NEW power-head on it. Get the BEST heat & suction you can afford.  If it's second hand... then so be it.

Second hand scrubber's just fine.

Used van's just great.

Throw some new jets on & use a wand that has had other owners.

awww... heck... I've done this rant before... I've also threatened to get a shipping container to Uncle Carpetologist to put all his second hand stuff in.. ship it over here & take the best for myself & sell the rest.

Never mind...

Cheers,

Allen

Ted would just love for you to send a container to pick all his used machines up and would probably give you a great price if you took it all. Instead of talking "JUST DO IT" I'll even drive to Toronto and lend a hand to load up the container. It's your move now Surroundings, I'm calling your bluff.

I am as confused as the rest of you are. 65 people viewing my 48 Hour Lost Leader Special.

I was selling it at a price that could not be beat Low,Low,Low. Am I crazy for selling it or are the 60 people crazy for not buying it?

Now I won't let this detour me, I will keep the 48 Hour specials going for now unless I go broke doing it.  You Snooze You Loose

Most people that come here Ted already have Equipment.... I think you would sell more if you could buy online.  It would mean a little more work for you but I think it would improve your flow of business...

I know I would pick up a few more things if I didn't have to leave the comfort of my chair....

I just want to sit here order and have it shipped to me....

Maybe you should of had a count down clock???

Really it hard for me to come to your shop and I live in the GTA... I rush through my days, working picking up kids, servicing vehicles taking care of the house...

This time at my desk is the only relax time I get

I'll appreciate the help, nightrider.  I've got some money saved up... about $37.50.  Could you float me a loan for the rest?

Sure, I'm a carpet cleaner & I charge $1000s per household... so it should be 'do-able' in theory...

HOWEVER... Mrs. Surroundings & the two Surround-ettes & Surround-Jr spend about $98 per day more then I ever make.

*sigh*

Allen family of five that's a tough one. Your brave to start out with that responsibility. What's it been about a year since you started the carpet cleaning business. How's it going so far.

Adwa,

Thanks for noticing... it's coming on to one year for Surroundings.

Doug, I've just celebrated 13 years of marriage.  We've got an 8yr old, a 5 yr old & a 3 yr old.  I still can't figure out my wife.

The business is surviving.  I've got about $2000 owed to me and only $1800 in bills, so it ain't that bad!!!

I may have a couple beers tonight or tomorrow & post some long rant about my first year.. what it's been like... where I've screwed up & where I've found success.

Cheers,

Allen

One thing I know about this business, by the time you spend your last dollar the phone rings and the money starts rolling in all over again.

Allen I'm waiting patiently for your post

Surroundings never try to figure a women out. The minute you think you have her figured out is the time you will be in most trouble. Just remember this. When you have had the hardest day of your life, she has had it twice as hard and probably is the truth. If you can remember this you will be ahead of the game.
