Hello everyone!  I am looking to do more commercial accounts and currently use a portable.  I was thing a OP machine or a Cimex.  I was leaning toward a OP machine because I can post bonnet my residental jobs but I heard  good things about the Cimex also.  I also use a GLS,  the small 10" one for prespray agiation which works great.  I have done some encap in my home with it but from a production standpoint it would probably be too small to use on commercial carpet.  A truckmount would be nice but want to keep my day job for now.  Advice needed....

Thanks
Darrell

All you need is an op machine. Not to post bonnet just use it to do the cleaning.Guitar

Darrell in one post you mentioned four different cleaning methods. Thats pretty good. I'm sure you will get lots of advise and welcome to the forum. Do not be surprised when our members start to stray from the subject. Enjoy!

Welcome, Darrell.

Can't help you make a decision on the items you've mentioned, sorry.  I've got a portable as well, and do a bit of commercial, but it goes a bit quicker & easier with my RX-20.

Good luck!

Allen

You're thinking of Larry.  Darrell & Daryl's other brother.  Notice the two different spelling of that name?  It's how thier mom told them apart.

Cheers,

Allen

I really hate than joke......Larry and my other brother are coming over to your house's and take care of things....LOL     I actually like my other job installing phone systems and voicemail for businesses.  Carpet Cleaning is a part-time thing for me hopefully more down the road.

Since I work in businesses all day I have the ability to ask the owners of the company for carpet care jobs.  There would be no way I would use my portie on some of these places I go.  Excuse me do you have a sink somewhere?  Just embarrasing........

Thanks.  The real DARRELL

Cimex is head and shoulders over the above mentioned machines for commercial work, however, a combination of machines is required if you get into bigger jobs.

If you can only afford one machine make it a Cimex. We have a OP machine and seldom use it, as the Cimex is better and faster on commercial work.

I'm going to leave Darrell alone, he might screw up my phone system somehow. Darrell, carpet cleaning is good because of the cash for residential, and the millions of square feet of commercial, but every Tom, d**k, and Harry get into this line of work 'cause they see a fortune to be made, what you don't see is all the Toms, d**ks, and Harry's cutting the price so low that it becomes a joke, you see there are people that have come to Canada happy to live on a bowl of rice, a chicken wing, and 1/2 glass of water and they live 10 to a room like roaches feeding off of Canadian Generosity. Where do you come from Darrell.

Actually I go to Canada a few times a year.  I love the fishing and the loons....not you guys, the waterfowl.  I've been to Rice lake, Lovesick lake and some lake 250 miles north of St. Marie.  I actually live near Cleveland and Erie pa in the middle of them.  I was thinking of a 15" inch Cimex possibly?

Just remember ......you have to change the brushes on the Cimex every 6000 to 10,000 sq. feet

WE offer the OP, the Cimex and a new GLS type machine, differing requeirements for different size jobs and cleaning quality requirements.

Explain the types of jobs you mainly do, size, amount of open space etc.

Hi Padman, I saw the exact machine that you say you make on the net under another company name, do you make for other people, cause they said they are the ones that invented that design and now offer it in a 1hp motor and a 1.5 hp. Just thought you should know , maybe you're getting ripped off. I will post their website as a new topic

Hey Padman will that special you have running on that 1/2 horsepower model work well enough?  This would be for light commercial office buildings.  How many square feet can you do in a hour with an op machine?  I am still on the fence with the Cimex and was weighing my options.  Any replies welcome!

Thanks

Darrell
