Does the phonebook still work or is everyone going online to search for a carpet cleaner ?

In my area the phonebook is not a good investment of your advertising and marketing dollars.  Internet, radio, TV are good.

Yellow pages still work in some areas. I would say that in the next 5 years Internet will dominate.
Rotopro Redmond Washington Carpet Cleaning provides carpet, upholstery and tile cleaning services. We service Redmond and the surrounding areas.

depends on areas you serving, in my case I am in a more rural area with alot of seniors and the like. Yellow P's still widely used here, although I still maintain a website.  Personally IMO i feel Co's with a website are my choice when chosing a service of any kind. To me it says they are willing to keep up with the times. But do BEWARE! there are literally 1000's of YP imitators, claiming to be with YP but not even close. If you do decide to go with the YP as a form of adv. for you, I suggest grabbing the book that comes free to your home and call the Adv. #'s listed in there; Or ask (if called or contacted) if they CURRENTLY issue free books to your area, if not 98% chance scammy no gooders. trust me going through it currently myself ;) gl.
**Whatever form you choose, be sure to implement a tracking system of any sort. If you are not aware what and where your calls are coming from, you will not be able to determine the most effective form of ADV in your area. Also, stick to your guns, and try to only revise those items not working (alot of people change their ads because they want it fresh, or new apperance). Keep in mind the consumer 1) isn't nearly as critical of your ad's as you will be (youre paying after all) and 2) they see it far less often than you do, therefore it may be best to keep what works. And lastly, try to revise your ADv plans or adj. them every 3 months, this prevents you fro dwelling on the items for too long, after all the time you put into Adv is still to be considered working. :D

Thanks lanakila. I didn't even think about the imitator yellow pages. They probably would have got me stuck in a contract then no one would hardly even see the book. I will make sure they ate the primary book. You might have just saved me a lot of money. Thank you. And thanks yo eyery one else who replied.

NP, thats why we are all here, to work together and hopefully offer better services due to our education. Glad to hear it may save you some $$, sorry to say i had to learn the hard way, but that does take some of the sting off. Adv. in general is a "used-car" kinda field, double triple check ALL THE FINE PRINT! trust me, they will rob you if given the chance. I get calls daily offering YP's and Websites, i simply let them know to "either send me physical forms of info (brocures, pamhplets, etc) or if not I am currently happy with all my Adv. and have all i need, please remove me from your calling list." that alone is usually enough to deter the Scum. esp when they call at like 9:30pm while trying to put kids down etc. Thumbs Down
